Question to the Staff or administrators here ....

On my profile it says ''Registered: January 31, 2010'' - which is when I did..

On my recent posts is says 'Registered: 1-2-2010'' - which I did not as it was on the above date..

Might seem like a small point but who is playing / altering my Data ???

Regards

I only see one registration date on your profile page and mini profile:

Registered: January 31st 2010
Location: UK - Obviously....!

Where exactly are you seeing 'Registered: 1-2-2010''

When I look below your avatar at your post above, it says: "Registered: 31 Jan 2010". It depends on the "Date format" settings of the viewer. You can set it here.

In the field "Date format", I have the following data to get the date format mentioned above (31 Jan 2010) :
j M Y

Try to change it and see what happens.

Btw, don't forget to set your correct timezone before hitting the submit button, or you may inadvertently set it to the wrong timezone. After you hit submit, you can ignore the fact that it seems like the timezone is wrong, as this field is only for setting the timezone (and not for viewing your current timezone setting). The timezone will not be reset, unless you hit the submit button again. In short: Always set your correct timezone before hitting submit, whenever you make changes to your settings.

If you instead of i.e. "j M Y" have today's date in that field, when looking at other member's posts, it will seem like all of them registered today

my guess?
you are from the uk, so don't you read the date as : dd/mm/yy, as do all europeans....

ok so your date is forwarding one day to 1/2/2010, and so this seems to be a time zone issue.....for some reason its forwarding one day beyond your register..

I'll once again advocate putting "F jS Y" in the "Date Format" field in account settings. I really think that should be the default. It gives dates like "September 2nd 2010", instead of the confusing all-numbers format.

Can you see when I registered? Did I "register on 1-2-2010" too?

F jS Y
and I see:

Ok, I get it now. You probably don't have a fixed date in that field. What you see, depends on the timezone of the viewer (you).

Thanks for replying....

I think I must be losing it.......

I've checked back over previous threads and random posts and they all say 1-2-2010..

I could have sworn that they used to say 31-1-2010 which is on my main profile...

anyway, not to worry, I'm just a detail person sometimes and I thought something was not right...

It says February 1st, instead of January 31st. +/- 24 hours, depending on your timezone

lol, I registered on 7 Jun 2004.

Try to change the date format in your settings as I explained above. Maybe try some of the other variables, that others have mentioned in this thread. Play around with it until you see the dates as you like to see them

If it said something different before, my guess is that you either have an incorrect timezone set in your current settings, or that your timezone was incorrect before
