Clues to a Monarchist Future

I have received several brief transmissions, beamed in from the Mothership:

1. There are definite patterns in world history, preserved in the modern day by the few remaining sovereign monarchs in the world. They believe themselves to be carrying out a mandate from heaven, or to have Divine Right.

2. Traditionally, an aging monarch passed on their responsibilities to their sons (and perhaps daughters). Charlemagne made his eldest son king of Aquitaine, and in his will expressed the desire to have his sons govern his empire in three parts.

3. Monarchs also pass on lesser duties than governance to their heirs. Making appearances at certain important meetings could suffice as their princely duty.

4. Queen Elizabeth I/II of the Commonwealth Realms has been the governing monarch for 58 years. Under her reign, two generations of her heirs have come to maturity, and invested their long lives in preparation for taking on princely duties. When they 'graduate,' when the Queen passes, then the greatest, best-prepared statesmen in the world will have gained sovereign power over a third of the Earth.

5. As republican establishments continue to decay, and revolutionary fever spreads throughout the world, the remaining monarchs of the world will emerge as the most credible leaders left in the political establishment.

6. A vision of Queen Elizabeth as an Orwellian tele-screen tyrant. In the eyes of the die-hard individualists, she will be seen as a tyrant having enslaved the world. In the eyes of her subjects, she is a Hobbesian Leviathan, the psychic union of all members of the body politic.

7. A renaissance in the global caste of divine rulers (monarchs), driven by the House of Windsor, will make them appear to be more credible than civilian governors. Republicanism will wane under the inept rule of the French and American presidents. Monarchies will be revived, and many republics will swear fealty to them.

8. If the twentieth century was one full of popular revolutions, then the twenty-first will be a century of royal restorations.

9. Bright colours and cheery faces in the street. Blue, red and blue dominate the urban landscape. These are the standards of the Kings of the United Kingdom and Commonwealth Realms; of the Tsars of Russia; of the Netherlands; of the Kings of Norway; of the Republics in France and America. The Republics were founded by mercenary juntas in service of some foreign Power, that bear the standards of their sponsor. The United States incorporates former colonies of the UK, Netherlands, Norway and Russia. Colours are the most rudimentary form of symbolism, and thus the best at communicating their simple messages. Colours immediately, instinctively awaken entire universes of the colour-coded concepts that we associate with each tone. We can all feel the heat of Red, and the cool of Blue. They have distinct meanings in the political world, symbolised by the colours on the sovereign's standards. Look to the colours of a nation's flag to know what values it pledges allegiance to.

10. As monarchy becomes popular again, the subjects in each Commonwealth Realm will demand their own kings, rather than wait on the King in London. One after another, they will receive a member of the House of Windsor as a permanent resident, bearing the title non-hereditary title of King. This can only occur after the head of the House of Windsor has assured that they will still reign supreme in that situation; only after the King in London has been promoted to some higher office, such as Emperor, or Sovereign, or King-President. A revived imperial family in Russia would serve the same function for the Commonwealth of Independent States.

11. The colours of the flag of the Republic of China are red, white, and blue; the standards borne by the mercenary armies of the northern European monarchs. When and if the People's Republic decays and falls in the 21st century, the Northmen will support the return of the Chinese emperor.

Not gonna happen..

Australians for one, would not allow a king to rule and I'm sure many countries feel the same..

Hell, we don't trust our elected leaders, so why would we trust a monarch??

Precisely because we cannot trust our elected leaders. The monarchs of the world have spent decades honing their rhetoric, so that they may present themselves as alternatives to the short-sighted greed of elected officials. It is their permanence that is their greatest virtue. They have long-term, vested interest in the success of the kingdom, whereas elected officials care only as long as they are in office. This is a part of the argument that monarchists will use to successfully popularize the existing monarchies, and promote restorations of defunct monarchies.

We are not governed by the queen..Not in the sense the OP is implying.

Yes we are part of the commonwealth but that is really just for show nowadays...

Look at it this way..........

We once had a problem Prime Minister (Gough Whitlam) who thought he was God and above all law and reason.

Our Governor General, (the Queen's representative), pushed the button on poor Gough, and called a Federal election.

She never intervened to say who would govern, just let Australians decide for themselves who would govern our country by calling an election.

This may happen again fairly soon if the current total deadlock in Canberra cannot be resolved, which I doubt it can be.

The Governor general may push the "Monarch button", and bring about a fresh election.

Now Americans laugh at our Queen, and our quaint old fashioned feudal system, but.................

Now suppose America were still part of the British Commonwealth.

The Queen might say something like:

"Obama shift your ass right now here to the palace!
Oh yes, and bring your birth certificate with you.
No birth certificate, no job".

But Americans would really hate anything like that to happen, huh ?

The Monarchy offers "we the people" protection from our sometimes lunatic or corrupt politicians, when they go completely off the rails.
And that has to be a very good thing.

I am certainly no Monarchist, and have no particular love for the Windsors as people, but the system itself is sound, and it has worked well for us Aussies in the past.

Is Australia not a member of the Commonwealth of Nations? Then if you are, you all are royal subject's with the ILLUSION of independence & freedom. The monarch still holds the power, Cameron reports to HRH weekly. Really, if you were king or queen, would you wish to be bothered with the daily benalities of government? It rather like the green wellie brigade & gardening. Let the serfs do the heavy, tedious stuff, we hoy palloy play with flowers a bit and knock off for a gin n' dubonnet.

We should end all the subterfuge and just do it. Openly and proudly proclaim HRM Queen of the world. The latter is certainly more agreeable than the current paradigm, uber-elite mercantile class running the whole show behind some dark curtain. The whole of our current situation reeks. Rule the bloody Yanks with HRM viceroy. Cheerio, pip,pip and all that rot!

Hear! Hear! Ok enough with my poor attempt at satire. Why don't we each be our own Monarch? Wasn't it Joyce who said,"we are all kings in a land of pretenders"? Namaste

These replies have given me many chuckles, thank you ATS.

There is still something valuable in a hereditary monarchy, that owes nothing to either side of politics, and has no real power except to blow the umpires whistle when a foul is declared, and call for an election.

Then "we the people" can really kick ass, and sort out the mess ourselves.

But Queen of the world is hilarious.

You ditched all that when you fought for and won independence.

But unfortunately America these days is now totally in the grip of crime immorality and corruption at every single level, and there is nothing short of a violent revolution that can possibly ever end it.

We Aussies don't need guns to get a despot Prime Minister booted out.

We have a great system that has proven that it works in the past, and that is really the bottom line.

(I think the US system is a sham) OR is there Bilderbergs and those of their ilk pulling strings behind the curtain? P.S. What's the greatest Australian beer? All I've ever had is Foster's Cheers!

You could say a little birdie told me.

This is a fairly long-term prediction because there are so many factors involved in the popularity of either republicanism or monarchism.

Royal restorations are, I think, inevitable because the blue bloods of the world are kept out of view of the public when the Republic reigns supreme, and they can dodge the bad press that the republican governments will absorb. When monarchs have reigned long enough, then republicans hiding in the background will become more popular again.

Yes.
We have a full paper voting trail here, that is watched and scrutinized by representatives from each political party, and members of the public at every single stage of the process.
Physical Security is handled by the Australian Electoral Commission, and by the state police force.

While it is possible for someone to cheat by voting multiple times at multiple polling booths, that would show up instantly as extra votes.
For instance 20,000 registered voters casting 25,000 votes.

To do this you would have to say you were someone else, and that would show up as that person voting twice (or more).

So it is not possible for extra votes to be fed into the system without being detected. And it is not possible for votes to be switched, because the polling booths and ballot boxes are under continuous human physical surveillance by representatives of all the major political parties, none of which want to see their rivals pull a swifty..

After the election the paper votes are very rapidly electronically scanned, so we get a very quick election result within hours of the polling booths closing.

Faking that is not possible, because after the fast electronic scan, the votes are counted again totally by hand, with observers from each political party standing right behind the election officials that count the votes.

Only when one party admits defeat will the results be final.
In the event of a very close result, the votes will be counted over and over again, as many times as it takes to get a result that satisfies all the people watching the entire process.

We have a very good system here based on a solid paper trail, fully witnessed and it is witnessed by members of the public and the political parties, to ensure there can be no possibility of cheating.

You might have noticed that in this last Aussie election, everyone has been biting their nails about the result.
But NOBODY has ever said any cheating was involved, because it just would not be possible to do without it being very obvious.

Our system is fair, open, and honest, and kept that way by both the politicians and the voters. We like it like that........
