Hello everyone.

I'm interested in the views of forum members (male and female) on mustaches do you love them, hate them or are you indifferent?

I have started thinking about growing some face fuzz as my girlfriend and I have been watching loads of reruns of "unsolved mysteries" and about 8 out of every 10 men on their have a tache of some kind, in fact we some times do a mustache count during the episodes and we have gotten to over 50 individual mustaches in one episode

(I guess thats a pretty disturbing peek into my life right there)

I'm think that they are more common in America, but in the UK you hardly ever see them unless accompanied by a beard so I would be going out on a limb socially

So what do you guys think, do you have a tache?, does your boyfriend? are they rugged or just lame?, should I rock a tache or not?

Oh I'm a man by the way, just to preempt that question

Depends on the person. I don't look right without a goatee. On others, it looks silly.

You may just have to see what it looks like on you, to make the decision (can always shave it off)...

I can say that just a mustache (with no beard or goatee) seems pretty out of fashion these days (at least in the states)...but not unheard of...

It is out of fashion, but I'm single handedly bringing it back
After that I'm going to bring back pipe smoking and wearing tweed jackets!

Female.

I prefer some facial hair.

But don't do the mustache without the goatee or beard, it just looks too 70s. Or porno star if it gets too thick :shk:

Now I'm confused about which mustache style to go with, the Dixon Bainbridge or the Howard Moon.

Maybe I should start a poll

Facial hair is a serious no-no unless you are going for the 80's Kevin Rowland look.
userserve-ak.last.fm...

Australian's have taken the facial hair artform to a new level and are the undoubted masters.

I went for the hippie goatee, myself; it complements my long hippie hair. But if a mustache works for you, I say go for it and rock it like nobody's business.

I have seen quite a few people sporting a tash in London, those Hoxton and Shoreditich types thinking they're being a bit "cool" by rocking a tash. It looks pretty silly, but who am i to comment my face hasn't had a wet shave in over 8 years, I flit between a beard and a poorly shaven stuble, going for the hobo austerity look.

If you really want to be different, why not try the Hitler tash, will definitely help you stand out in London

There is a new film out soon set around the Northern Soul scene and Wigan Casino called SoulBoy.
www.soulboythefilm.com...

Many original Soulies had a 'tash a la Kevin Rowland.

Northern Soul has been having a bit of a resurgence in The North and The Midlands, maybe The South is finally catching up?

I used to be a bit of a Hoxtonite at one point before I decided that the whole thing was just too silly.

Richard Herring did a stand up show last year about trying to repopularize the toothbrush or Hitler mustache, he grew one for a while and saw how people reacted to him. He's a brave man

That's a pretty good pic of ole Fred. He's got his teeth under control for a change.

For a non-gay man, wearing a moustache without a beard is tantamount to wearing a placard saying I'M NOT GETTING ANY. This includes Burt Reynolds. Don't do it.

Not getting any?? Surely you jest sir, you absolute bounder!

I would say don't do it, unless you go with beard as well.

Especially don't do it if it's going to be one of those silly little skinny mustaches, or it's going to be all thin and weak like a 15 year old boy who hasn't bought his first razor yet.

This is almost OK:

This is NOT OK:
