Galm 1, that is a CGI image of what some people believe Aurora might look like. Still interesting though.

I agree with Canada_EH, we should try and track down the origin of the Aurora myth. Heres a link to my old hunt for original aurora thread, it could do with some reviving:

I believe that it does exist, just not in service at this moment. I believe that they have working prototypes and that they are soon to be ready for service. It was recently reported than on 27 September 1995 David Morris of Walsall, Cornwall UK took a picture of a triangular shaped plane being refueled by a KC-135, and flanked by a pair of F-111s. The unknown aircraft appeared to be about three-quarters the size of the KC-135. There is your proof. I don't believe in alien UFO's, but some sort of military plane, escorted by USAF fighters, was refueling.

OK. Lets put this one to bed, with the real facts.

In 1989 a former member of the UK's Royal Observer Corps, by the name of Chris Gibson, was working on an oil platform in the North Sea, when he was called out on deck by a colleague who was witnessing an unusual formation of aircraft. Gibson recognised a KC-135 Extender, and two F-111's, but the third aircraft in the formation, which appeared to be refuelling he could not identify.

He drew a picture of what he saw, including the KC-135, the F-111's and an aircraft that was the shape of an isocelese triangle.

Gibsons qualifications as a witness were impeccable, because he was trained in aircraft recognition and was familiar with just about everything that was flying at the time. He still hasn't identified what he saw, but he has stated that it was not an F117, or a B2 Spirit.

The picture to which you refer is a mock-up image, produced for UFO Magazine in the UK, to illustrate what Gibson saw. It is NOT a real photo.

I forgot to add in one thing, is the Aurora the same thing as the Hypersoar. I have another picture of the Hypersoar.

I know that this picture is not real, but that is how they think it will look. Will someone respond back to tell me the difference.

Hyper soar hypersonic spacecraft will fly at Mach 10 to reach any where in the world in less than 2 hours. Is the claim and some think that it could of possibley been what the Aurora funding was geared towards. The project was classified as the X-43 program and was to deal with waverider tech and scram jets. Thats the easy discription if you interested in more info check out this site.

I guess everyone thinks that plan is very stupid. Hey, even I do! We need to get together to plan this out if it is going to work.

Considering that it has been a while since there have been any "Real" Aurora sightings, has anyone concidered the idea that Aroura may no longer be in use?

As far as I can tell, nothing really new on the Aroura has come up for a few years now.

Maybe they have developed a more high-tech aircraft?

A replacement for Aroura! That on it's own sounds like an intresting thread. Wonder what we're looking at?

I'm just thinking outside the box. If there hasn't been any real sightings for a while, maybe they have developed a new aircraft? Maybe they decided to scrap the Aurora project? Who knows?

galm1,

I started another thread on Just that topic! I really get the feeling you might be onto something here. There are many reasons why this makes sense to me. the biggest one being that the warfare environment has changed quite a bit since Aroura was first seen. This leads me to believe that they might have decided the "Aroura Project" was no longer able to forfill the evolving intelligence mission. If the design is no longer right for the intelligence needs of the US military, I see no reason they would continue to fund it.
