Found this a few minutes ago and thought it was interesting.

It seems when the crops turn brown, some areas of the crops are greener than others because of buried objects which are now forming an outline of ancient structures.

Here is the link to the article

Aerial photographs "show marks made when crops growing over buried features develop at a different rate from those nearby." Up close, they're impossible to see. But from the air, a pattern emerges.

edit because I misread and thought there was a drought.

Interesting topic, i love this stuff but one thing puzzles me...

Do crops not turn brown when they are ready for harvest???

Oh and by the way, i live in the UK and i aint seen no drought! But in saying that if it doesnt rain in the South East of England (London) for a week the UK is officially in a drought

Thanks, jrmcleod, it seems I misread the article, there is no drought.
I edited the title and other mentioning of drought.

And yes, this is interesting. So many ancient sites will now be found because of this curious combination of elements.
