I went to school at Indiana University on a track scholarship. Bloomington is a beautiful little university town. I never had a problem with Americans. In fact, I have a lot of friends and family that live in the US.

Ugggh. The Islamic cultural center. I wish that topic would just go away. If the builders of the center had any ties to the wacko fanatics that caused 911, we'd all know. They should just let them build their cultural center and leave them alone.

Greetings from the only hillbilly in St. Jacques de Montcalm.
I'd love to see a Francophone version of this type of site. Having some material that piques my interest really helps with my French language studies.

I'll assume I shouldn't quote any of that in French class until we begin to study the works of Michel Tremblay

I grew up in Montreal and I learned to read and write in French before English. My parents are both Anglophones and I never learned those expressions in school. I learned them mostly in my current job.

Exactly !! I'm in business and every time I get frustrated I let a " Sacré Bout'd'crisse " come out ! My business partner is Muslim and he flips out every time it happens....

If I had him read Ben's line, he'd have a heart attack !

Again, Ridley, Welcome to ATS and thank you cause this thread had me in tears laughing !!

For the longest time, I thought those words were just part of the experience of driving in Montreal.
I would not be offended by the words themselves, only the tone in which they're delivered.
I only jest about using them, I honestly wouldn't want to offend.
If I intended to curse, I'd naturally revert to my unintelligble hillbilly accent. All you'd hear is a bit of muttering.
