This is a sincere request.

Many people have called me an old soul. As a matter of fact, I don't think I've met more than 10 people who didn't bring that up, including strangers. I've kind of just rolled with it and chalked it up to "book smarts". But as I've progressed spiritually, I realized that intelligence isn't limited to "common sense" and "academic smarts". There's something more, and I've been trying my hardest to tap into it. I've come close multiple times and now that I'm more familiar with the "symptoms", I see that my childhood was riddled with spiritual experiences including OOBEs that I didn't recognize as such.

I want to connect back to that. I want to connect with that old soul so desperately. The world is crumbling and before it falls I want to be able to connect at will. I know that ATS is full of adepts. All I ask is that somebody or some group of bodies give me a little "push". I just need a little guidance on the journey, so I can return to the world and give it all I can. I don't know if auras can be sensed via internet messages, but I'm really trying to infuse the vibe.

This life hasn't lasted that long but I have talent that could launch me into the stars. Right now, I'm in a bit of a slump. Not a creative slump, but a motivational slump. I spend everyday giving people happiness and trying to survive, but circumstances seem to work against me. If I could tap into my true self... I don't know yet, but it feels good to think about.

I know that secrecy is important, especially for adepts; I study alchemy. If you can't post on the thread, just U2U me and we can chat, email, or whatever you're comfortable with.

Other members can post experiences or methods to reach "that level".

Just realise that when you die you are born again.

There is no such thing as an old soul. We all go back past creation.

When you are thoughtful, introspective and a little unusual, meaning not apparently caught up in the day to day tedium of modern life, people will often use the expression "old soul" to describe you. I have heard it said of Dakota Fanning. I wouldn't take it to heart so much. We are all old souls.

Well, I've got progress! Didn't have an OOBE, but I did have an awesome lucid dream last night where I flew really high in the sky above a city.

I think the trick with dream induced lucid dreams (for me) is that I have to be confronted with a "scary" situation. If I try to run from it, I end up getting stuck or the dream ends. But if I choose to do something extraordinary, I become lucid.

OK, I will give you two methods to travel back and "see" your past lives and events from those lives. Be warned, some of the images are really graphic, especially if you died a violent death. It will scare you. Second, once you do this, there is no going back. the memories you see will forever me in, and on your mind. I did this a number of years ago and sometimes have flashbacks from the experience.

That being said, here are the two techniques I use:

You must be good and two things, meditation, and visualization. Begin with 7 deep breaths, and go to the right brain. Visualize a clock right in front of you, and make the clock turn backwards. Go back a few days at first, then a few weeks, then a few months, until you are good at it, and used to the effects. Do not hurry this process, or you could end up with severe mental problems. This is not for the weak minded people, or the faint at heart.

Now you are ready for the past life exploration. Go into the deep mediation and this time visualize a calendar instead of a clock. Make the pages flip back, one at a time, faster and faster, and stop anytime. To return, just think your self back in bed, or wherever you were when you started. Warning: Be careful that no one wakes you when you are doing this. You will be yanked back, and will experience a thing called physic shock. You do not want to experience that, friend.

Be aware you will see the ways you have died, this can be a shocking experience for some. You will see wives and lovers, children and pets, events and happenings, not everything you understand, just some things. Do not attempt to speak to anyone you see, for whatever reason. Good luck, and happy trails.

In Numerology the Soul Path is the completed combination of the full Birthdate. The Month, Day, and the YOB combined.

Have you determined your Numerological Soul Path Number?

At any rate, I have noted several comments lately that have indicated where there was once an ease at meditating now there seems to be some disruption. My thoughts also went to the recent post that says that it has been discovered that our Sun is currently emitting a new particle which is effecting the decay rate of sub-atomic particles here on Earth.

However, I would be comfortable doing a Numerology reading for you if you wouldn't mind me doing it publicly. If you don't and just want to know what your Soul Path Number means I could just limit it to just that so as not to reveal you. Just add all numbers together and reduce to a single digit. If in the end you get an 11 or a 22 those remain double-digit because they are considered Mastery Numbers.

One of the ways that I fully engaged in Spirit was on my 30th Birthday I participated in a "Rebirthing Ceremony". This was the original Ceremony developed in the 1970's by Leonard Orr. It consisted of breathing exercises over two weeks and then a Guided Cerermony which lasted for several hours.

Here is Leonard himself performing a breathing exercise. Sit up straight and try to keep up with him, at the end he has a great message!

thanks for all the info guys!

autowrench, ill try those techniques in my next meditation session.

Greensage, interesting... I've heard of different number interpretations but never the Numerology Soul Path... is that what they use in Scientology?

just kidding.

If what your searching for is the meaning to your life, your lifes purpose to give you that extra motivation you feel you are lacking right now, I do recommend meditation.

I am in meditation every night before I fall asleep for about an hour or more. Talking to various spirits, spirit guides, angels, etc. On the astral realm which I reach in meditation I can do anything go anywhere- including going up to the "Hall of Records" (look that up if you dont know what it is) and meeting with the Elders who are like- Guidance Counselors who can talk with you and help you navigate your way through your lifes journey. Before you were born, you choose to experience certain things in your life and if you are at a stalemate perhaps its because you "know" what it is you should be doing- but you cant remember. Meditation is a great way to remember.

Are you talking about the Akashic Records? I try to remember but my meditations haven't taken me to that point. The only notable things that happen are a euphoric physical feeling and a clarity of mind.

UPDATE: Just had another lucid dream two nights ago! It didn't last that long because I had to wake up for class not too long after I achieved it, but I flew around for a while and shot fireballs from my hands. Pretty awesome!

Well I fly around as well, use telekinesis and other form of "magick", but it is not that awesome. Just imagination.

I don't personally believe I am an old soul. I believe the trauma I've witnessed and been through along with trying to take care of 6 siblings and much time traveling have produced my methods and beliefs in life. But that doesnt necessarily account for some of my insight or wisdom.

I believe there is a gap between what I could possibly have learned in my life through experience and thought, and what I actually am aware of or how my intuition and conscious works. A gap that isnt easily explained by me connecting the dots together in my head.

Which has me speculating on the whether or not there is a soul working along with my physical self. it would seem to have awareness beyond the years my body has been here. Not that it's easy to tap into that part of myself... I have recently began to look into it and study what I can find on the topic. It seems mainly the roots of the soul and of reincarnation are mainly tied up in religious or speculative dogma. Which has made it easy in the past to shrug off like any kind of otherworldly topic or religion. As I have always been a strong 'cant see it then its not there' athiest. But then I can't find any understanding or happiness with such unwillingness to be open minded. Also then I had put myself into only working out my physical body and doing nothing for my mind or soul or whatever...

I'll get more to the main subject. First; I have, through experience and much thought become aware of the reality that there is more to us and more to the world than what is tangible. Second; the only way to understand what is going on is through more experience and hopefully insight into the matter.
Originally I thought the only way to possibly gain knowledge and understanding was by living as lucid as possible with as few assets as possible. So I could travel as often as I could and to live in as many different places as I could. Just to walk the earth so to say, to observe and ponder. Well after the economy took a dive, the trouble with money and living situations and travel became a huge problem I havent been able to overcome.
Now I am back near where I grew up in a serious relationship looking into a career. The time of job hopping with heavy travel has passed for me, for now.

So I have wondered how to continue with my mental or 'spiritual' self. Because I know I don't get it yet. One day while I was in jail a man handed me a book written by a philosopher about a series of conversations with his buddhist monk son. My first real read into meditation and what it is capable of doing. Also there was a quote by the monk that kind of took over my thoughts as it seemed so relevant to the way I've lived my life this far.... He was quoting a conversation his buddhist teacher had had with another man. It was (not word for word)
"You have many many miles to go, and I have many hours to sit, for us to reach the same destination"

I am trapped where I am now due to money issues, though I can only take that as an opportunity to find another way to advance my awareness and spiritual self. This is meditation. Since I have began meditating (which hasnt been more than a few months) I have seemingly began to break down my brain's firewall. Intense emotions that I have barely managed to keep under control have come forth and attacked me many times while my mind is calm. This is obviously a trick in my mind to keep the focus on the tangible, or a warning... Anyways it intrigued me quite a bit to get to a point and then face a challenge. None of it physical, but definitely tangible in a way. Also I feel more sensitive slightly to the paranormal. A week or so ago I stared dead on at a shadow of someone much shorter than me, 2 feet from me, but the shadow was not a shadow as I couldnt see bookshelf or wall through it. I let out a loud yelp and fell into the wall behind me, then it was gone. It also glimmered on the edges in an almost violet color.

When I was in high school, several times I could hear raspy loud whispers telling me what to do, though only a few words each time. I took it as immense depression or something like that and went straight to the doctors and they put me on anti psychotics. But the voice only wanted me to do obvious things, like one day I decided not to go to school, immediately "GET UP". Another time I ditched a project and went home. "YOU NEED TO LEAVE". But i didnt. Im not listening to my conscious if it has a real voice, because then im hallucinating. How stupid and naive I was to get put on such powerful drugs as a teenager over something another person would perceive as divine intervention at a time when I needed that guidance. I also noticed people in my backyard watching the house. I was scared.

After meditating, and contemplating, then actually clearly seeing a person or projection of someone I have become super intrigued by the phenomena. Was I hallucinating in high school? Or was that projection of a person of the same device as back then?

I personally feel that enlightenment on the subject can only be done through meditation combined with physical experience.

Looking into what the Buddha thought and said about all this- there are other people here. It is possible to become aware and view them after you obtain through meditation a divine sight, and even a divine ear. But if I'm not mistaken he also said some people were born with these abilities, although surely they didnt understand it fully.

Its almost frightening. But its beginning to look like the truth, the more I calm down and open my mind.

Yes imagination is a great gift, without it, many breakthroughs and achievements would have been left uninvented. I was rather referring into the way how to use it.

I've believed partially in the whole "All That Is" since I was about 10 years old.
I've always felt it, I can't explain how I felt this, and how I know I felt it at such a young age.

Souls are eternal . We all have existed at all points in time, including the future. However, in order to experience all aspects of the Tao (or God, or All That Is), the soul at some point decides to let go of its awareness of All That Is and fragments into many pieces. Each of these fragment is a soul in itself. This is the process of eternal growth.

Our souls are energy,
and once you have even the slightest conscious thought on such things,
from then on it's simply kinetic energy... as long as you don't hit the breaks when you know you shouldn't.

Laws of attraction & the way the universe is constantly expanding mean that if you don't stop your conscious search for more, that the energy that is you, and the energy you are creating will continue to multiply and evolve, and attract more energy, while also contributing to the eternal growth of All That Is (the universe, our souls, the energy that is our souls).

And regarding your feeling of not being completely connected with your soul and your purpose and your direction and how to reconnect...
Don't stress.
Don't force yourself.
The answers you search for will come, they have to, laws of attraction right?
And I'm sure by the end of this, you will see more of a connection than you ever thought imaginable.

Oddly enough as it may sound, this very thread is a prime example that a connection of constantly expanding energy. Or at least the fact that I chose this one thread to read after first waking up this morning.
Why? Because as of last night, one of MY missing pieces fell into place.
Kinetic energy & the laws of attraction brought me here, to show me the thought I had while falling asleep last night was dead on:
The next step for me, and other energies in this world who are starting to connect the dots... is to connect more with each other.

If you are one of those who haven't started their conscious journey to enlightenment, this may sound completely insane.
Or if you're religious in any way..
Just stop, take a second to right now really think about it...

... if you feel that uneasy, unexplainable excitement, with chills down your spine and goosebumps on your neck, if you suddenly feel like there is more than what we know... then you have already started to open up, if only subconsciously, to the connection and energy around you in all that is. Embrace this, and welcome the evolution of consciousness.

Greetings my friend,

I don't buy into "Old" soul for I believe our souls are all part of God and have all been around since creation. That is not to say everyone elses perception is wrong, just mine is different.

If you want to take a trip back to where it all began, and forward to where it is all going, read this thread and the links within. Then think about the implications.

If you have questions, I'll be glad to help.

The mind is an infinite playground. Any thing can be imagined there. Do not loose sight of the Heaven out here right before your eyes.

With Love,

Your Brother
