Well, this just shows how biased the big three networks; ABC, CBS, and NBC; are in their political views. I think those not on a kool aid diet pretty much already figured this out.

Obama, Democrats got 88 percent of 2008 contributions by TV network execs, writers, reporters

Senior executives, on-air personalities, producers, reporters, editors, writers and other self-identifying employees of ABC, CBS and NBC contributed more than $1 million to Democratic candidates and campaign committees in 2008, according to an analysis by The Examiner of data compiled by the Center for Responsive Politics.

The Democratic total of $1,020,816 was given by 1,160 employees of the three major broadcast television networks, with an average contribution of $880.

By contrast, only 193 of the employees contributed to Republican candidates and campaign committees, for a total of $142,863. The average Republican contribution was $744.

I assume this in regard to Newscorp giving a million to the Republicans no? The difference I think people would say is this. One is corprate entity that owns the news organization that donated money. The 3 broadcast networks examples is what individual people gave on their own, the weather man, the SNL guy etc. What you should be looking at is what the companies that own these new organizations themselves give. Media companies favored Dems from 1990 till 1998 and then favored the Republicans from 1998 until 2008 when they swithched again to the Dems. Also this will really confuse you GE you know the owners of the liberal mouth piece MSNBC has give more to the Republicans this year then the Dems. And Fox between 90 and 98 donated more to the Dems. So why the big deal about newscorps million? Well it was all in one big sum to one party. In general the new corps keep it fairly balanced in do so in small donations.

So what does all this say about donations and reporting? Well unless you think Fox was once a bastion of Liberal news and that MSNBC is currently a mouth piece for the Conservatives, not a much at all it seems.
