Because its a FRATERNITY, a dictionary may be instructive here for you. Women join SORORITIES. Again,a dictionary may be helpful for you. This is not hard to comprehend. Or is it?

Here's the deal. I assume you're trying to persuade younger members -30 age. People around that age group have no idea what you guys even are. Unless their fathers were members they have never heard of you. You are a supposed secret society what the heck do you expect?

Do you seriously think being as out of touch with the world as groups like yours is you will attract new members? When your current members die you will cease to exist.

OP, could it not be that in your town, there are not any people who think that the Masons are illuminati, servants of the antichrist, etc, and just classify them with the Elks or the Moose or the Knights of Columbus? Maybe that's how your townsmen feel about the Masons, they're just another group like the Elks. I don't know if we have any Masons here, but I know we have the Elks, and if they had an open house, I don't know as I'd go. I don't know of any secrets that they have that I might want to learn, and I am not looking for a club to join. There may come a point when I'd stop by an open house for the free grub, but they don't worry me. I just assume they are a club that has it's own private tavern. As far as the Masons, maybe everybody in your town who wants to be a mason is either already in or been turned down?

I agree about the younger society, too preoccupied to open their eyes . As are most others. The doors were kicked wide open but nobody wanted to see a so called secret society. So a so called secret society opened the doors literally but nobody wanted to shatter their prejudice illusions or had any intellectual curiosity. Sad really.

An open day? Don't make me laugh mate, if half of what is attributed to masons is true, i don't think for a nanosecond that during the course of an 'open day', anything remotely controversial or incriminating would be available to view or be on display.

It suprises me how many people think that Masonry is attributed to anything remotley evil. Also many lodges are at working making new members, at least in my jurisdiction. It is true, at least in my small amount of experience as a Mason that most could be my Grandfather I was made a Master mason when I was 29 and I am probably one of the youngest members in my lodge.

I look at it as a great advantage, I have thousands of years of experience at my hands to pick the minds of men more experienced then I.

I as I would consider myself a young Freemason at 30 would love to see more younger Masons join. I think that people in genral are afraid of obligations.

I drive by a Masonic Lodge every day, the Ralph R. Rickley Temple, occasionally they throw some type of graduation party or Christmas thing, but most of the time the parking lot is empty and the grass is overgrown. Some conspiracy! However, it is right down the street from some open field with a huge radio tower, which is also down the street from the Safari Bar and Grille where it's been "Shaunta's Birthday Party" for the last 3 months. Possible connections? Probably not.

I'm pushing 50 these days, and other than here or other similar places I don't think I've ever heard anyone mention the Masons in a positive or negative way. Maybe the whole club/lodge concept is outdated or something, as few seem to care one way or another about it. There must be some interest, as there are still Masons around, but I can't say I ever met one, or anybody who wanted to be one.

So yeah, I think your thread title sums it up- nobody cares.

I have found that Masonry is at an evolution point. It has survived as an ancient way to pass knowledge and how to do as it states "make good men better", but the problem is not Masonry or the Lodges... It's all about the younger generations.

Youth of today seem more in need of the almight (but fickle) dollar, no intrest is given to making oneself better.

They want the answers now, not having to work hard to achieve them (or why would video game cheat books be so popular).

When you picture a 70 year old Mason it seems correct. I state that I am at late 30's and people wonder how. Like I am an enigma.

Masonry is not "fresh". It is not "pop" and will never lower itself to be the "in" thing. But that is the world we are in and our kids are eating it up.

It is unfortunate, but true.

Whereas the Mason-phobes will continue to tote their banners, I feel it has nothing to do with them as to why all Ladges are hurting to stay open and why so many are on the brink of Darkness.

Men only or can women become a Knight of Proto?

There is a lady Freemason group in my area but no mixed groups. I'm not sure why the men and ladies are still kept separate and would be interested in hearing from anyone with views on that? Maybe my husband's lodge is more like the Knight's of Proto and he wouldn't want me tagging along!

You see the Knights of Proto is all about taking over the world.

Since it's the women of the world currently in control of it...

We do though have an annual cooed volley ball and jello wrestling tournament. By the way those are not separate events the volley ball field is Jello!

There is absolutely no truth to the rumor that once you become a Knight of Proto a life like wax effigy is commissioned of the new initiate to deposit in his bed at night so he appears to be quietly at home, while in reality he is out gallivanting around with the Knights of Proto. (This is absolutely true guys, and it snores, and passes gas!)

Brothers, we have to accept the fact that too many are too caught up in the "physical" to worry with the "spiritual".

I'm amazed that Grand Lodge allowed recitation of the "work" to be done over multiple days or practically spoon fed. Sorry. i'm a purist. I got mine the "old way".

I remember my Masters degree. I had 3 weeks to study. I spent almost everyday after work, at work when brothers would pop by (one man operation), and alone time studying. I made it but wasnt easy!

There is only so much we can do to encourage others to join or just to visit and ask questions.

Remember, many are called but only a few will answer.

I think it's great that this thread has served to increase awareness of the Proto Knights, but I really am at a loss as to why the Masonic Brotherhood is so intent on derailing it with this incessant off topic babble about Masonry!

I think it goes to show the true depserate times the Masonic Brotherhood has fallen upon that they would attempt to hijack a thread dedicated to the fuller understanding of the supreme wisdom and superior ways of the Order of the Proto Knights.

Maybe it's these kinds of disengenous tactics that are turning people off to Masonry?
