i was medically retired after 11 years last year. helpful hint: when the TI's start yelling at you face to face, smile. if they get real close, lick their faces, they love it!

seriously, be safe. there, abroad, and here on ATS.

hope you enjoy your experiences here, and please don't post crap,

I'm sure that you'll have fun both in the Air Force and here on ATS. Try to go through as many cool schools as you can, if they even allow that in the Air Force. Anyway, have fun and welcome!

See you around the forums.

I'm pretty new, myself. I've lurked around here for quite a while, but finally got around to actually making an account here.

Welcome aboard

Enjoy your stay, ignore trolls and feel free to ask for help.
A lot of people here are very eager to help out our fellow ATS members...

Really ! Isn't that amazing ?

Question :

Where did you enlist for ?

Do you want to be a pilot or do you want to make it to the top secret space program one day ? Just curious.

Kind regards

~ Sinter

The reason why I enlisted was because jobs are hard to come by. I could spend a good chunk of money going to college and get out a begin the task of finding a job in the subject you went to college for. Mean while I have all these student loans I have to pay for. So thats the reason why I joined, its a guaranteed job, free schooling, good benefits, and good retirement. Not to mention I get to travel to a lot of places for free.

Smart move Jeremy. You've just signed up to one of the best sources for information on the web. IMO. Remember to weed out the BS with critical
thinking. Deny ignorance and search out all truth.
Always speak the truth as you know it.

Welcome to ATS.

Thank you very much

Have you considered that you might have to kill a few or a lot along the way, just because you like certainty ?
Or that you might not make it the end of your service ?

Not intending to say you chose the wrong job or offend you.

Just a question.

I totally understand your motives. They were once reasons for me to consider enlisting.

He might also get the oppurtunity to save lives as part of his job too. I think he made a fine choice, not only for himself but also for the rest of us, regardless of whether we agree with the current mission or not. Like anything else in life, you can do just as much good as you can bad.

You make a good point there.

Through all the negativity, I must admit that I didn't really think about that.

You are absolutely right ! There are a lot of positive ways which are just as much part of a soldiers job.

Thank you for getting me grounded again.
