The US federal government killed ~700,000 American citizens during the 1860s to ensure a handful of states paid their federal taxes and obeyed federal regulations.

That war was fought for many reasons not just taxes.

The US federal government killed ~418,000 American citizens in another European war to protect trade interests during the 1940s. The sovereignty of American soil was never at stake during all of WWII. The attack by Japan was intentionally provoked AND we knew it was coming ahead of time.

Yeah The Germans smashing their way through Europe and Russia killing millions had nothing to do with helping the allies against them? Or the raping of Nanking China etc, with Japan gobbling up country after country and killing millions of Chinese and Koreans doesn't count aye?

You're right that the civil war was fought over more than just taxes. And the Iraq war was fought over more than just oil. For example, little Bush wanted to finish what daddy Bush couldn't get away with while boosting his ratings big-time.

One of the first posts mentioned the causes he was listing were opinion rather than factual. This proves that the people of the United States never clamored for war, but rather it was the government. If the people were clamoring for war, then the reasons would be blatantly obvious. Therefore even if the official US history book reasons were correct they were not the people's wars but rather the government's wars. If the people are the one's who wanted war the reasons would be obvious rather than opinion.

During the time the Germans were smashing their way through Europe, how many groups in the USA were formed to go and volunteer to help fight against the Nazis without waiting for the US government to tell them what to do or what to think? What percentage of Americans went over due to actions initialized by the American people rather than the American Federal government?

I don't remember there being pro-war rallies in Washington DC prior to any war the US has waged. Do you remember? Was there a single rally for WWII in the US?

There were numerous bond drives which were used to fund the war effort and large amounts of people showed up to those. I would call that a pro-war rally during WWII

I believe Mnemeth is showing the utmost respect for the soldiers who gave their lives. He is pissed off that they died in vain.

No. They did not die in vain,

They died to help give us the leisure we try to enjoy today.

Trade interest? Just trade interests? Hate to tell you, but trading is our life's summed up. We work. We live. We leisure.

And thanks to our veterans, they continue to to help the rest of us live a guilt free life bathed in wants instead of needs.

You think Japanese kamikaze bombers die in vain? Life is built on a set of beliefs, and that is all folks.

Slavery still exists. We benefit from it. Our slaves just work across the world, owned by large corporations, that sell goods to us at a "discount" rate.

But the economic cycle is much more tenuous. We are also slaves to the debt and Chinese goods. We own each other.

We are born with nothing, and we end with nothing. Do your best to enjoy the time in between.

Soldiers do not die in vain; though the cause for which they supposedly fight might be. If you've never served, you won't understand what Men truly fight for.

Everyone has different motivation and sometimes that shifts day to day, or even hour by hour. There are many enemies for a Soldier: juggling emotions, stress, physical discomfort and exhaustion - plus whatever else lurks nearby.

No, what they fight for over there is not the propaganda the media feeds us, it isn't "freedom" or "terrorism" or any lofty ideal.
They fight for themselves and each other. They fight to come home.

i think it is good for everyone to question the reason behind why the government does what it does every once and a while....but the media is constantly feeding us disinformation to make the situation look different than it really is....how do any of us know what to think anymore about our government....you go against their ways and its just like work...YOUR FIRED...only getting Fired by the government isn't quite the same....

First off this thread has a valid plight< i agree with the purpose of the poster, They are upset with the way our government is carelessly throwing lives at a problem rather than using rational and process to eliminate the issue rather than declare "WAR"
Those of you who would rather tisk tisk the poster... go bury your head in the sand... you serve no purpose but to hear yourself talk..
I have many concerns for where this country is heading.. there are many questions that remain unanswered and many of them are leading AMERICANS into their graves, early graves, might I add.
Questions like:
Why do we make coffins by the millions?
Why has our country developed all these disease and illnesses since the 1940's?
Why are there more questions than answers surrounding the 9/11 event?
Why are not more people questioning the citizenship of out president?
Why do we allow our government to keep running the way it is?
Why don't we set new guidelines on cabinet members and terms in office?
Why don't we limit the terms to 2 years for all members in the cabinet and the senate so that we get fresh ideas and new blood in office instead of letting those in office stay there until they die? they have nothing to offer and all to gain after a certain point get them out after no more than 4 years... allow fresh ideas in to keep up with the changing times.
I do not believe that war solves anything .. the methodology is to preform population control more than to provide an answer to a problem.

There are many other methods to solve a problem than to have people give their lives. Play a game of chess and who ever wins has their way.. they proved they can stratigically outwhit the opponent.
Another comment was made about working to death. This is true, we work until we can no longer work or die. So when we have nothing to contribute I would not be surprised if the government were to send around a patrol to eliminate those who no longer are able to contribute to our society in a productive manner.
What is coming to my mind along with NWO.. or new world government is a movie that came out in the 1970's titled "Soylent Green" Staring Charlton Heston portraying a police detective who finds himself marked for murder by government agents when he gets too close to the truth of what the state is hiding. The movie is futuristic earth for the 1970's but I see how close to the truth this is becoming to modern times.

Furthermore since our money is not federally contoled but rather our Government is contoled by those in charge of the Federal Reseve which is run by 11 people with elite power. This happened in 1913. These people are no better and are "the money changers" spoken of in biblical times. This act in itself violates our US constitution. We need to impeach all those in power and revamp our entire judicial system. But with independantly wealthy people who control our economic situation even the Government is at a stale mate and can make no move to change the situation.

The government and every American are at the mercy of a minority of the population pf less than 1 % who now call the shots over the rest of our country and there is little to nothing any one can do I would be happy to back my claims but I will post one link which will open the door to all the other questions I posted.

Please I plead you to show the logical connection that the foreign wars that the United States has engaged in has secured such luxuries...

No need to spout the typical freedom isn't free, because my friend, I served. Yet I fail to see how fighting in foreign lands, in which there was never a direct threat to our way of life, protected those very luxuries.

So you don't get my tone wrong, I find being in the military a very selfless act but you cannot claim that which is never truly been tested...which is our way of life.

The question is not whether they stopped the Nazis.

The question is whether stopping the Nazis was worth the cost of a half million dead Americans and the impoverishment of America.

The vast epic amounts of resources that went to the war effort could have gone toward making life better for Americans.

The war conflict itself cut off trade relations which could have helped everyone prosper.

The cost in lives and the economic cost of WWII were tremendous. I would argue they were totally unnecessary. America could have stayed out of Europe's wars and remained neutral. Germany would have had no hope of successfully attacking and invading our shores.

The Soviet Union at the hight of its power could not have mounted a successful invasion of the US, thus it is extremely doubtful a post-WWII Nazi Germany could have.

The attack on Pearl by Japan was entirely provoked by us AND we knew it was coming ahead of time. We could have stayed out of the Pacific war to our advantage as well.

In Canadian high school I had an ex pat American chemistry teacher
who was not allowed to teach in the states because he was a bully.

He caught a student cheating on a test and singled him out in front of the class.
The student's excuse:
"Everybody else was cheating"
(which was not true)
the chmistry teachers response:
"thats the most cowardly excuse for cheating I have ever heard."

Thats the only time I ever respected that "teacher"

Critisizing the US government for things like installing the shaw of Iran, or pol pot, or saddam, or for things like
911 the inside job, no WMDs, and, or for the deaths resulting from the lie of the gulf of tonkin, by saying
"what about everyone else?" while claiming the US is the moral high ground,
or by claiming
"AMERICA HATE"
is delusional to say the least.
A cowardly cop out at Best.

To all the AMERICANS standing for the bill of rights and the constitution and who oppose tyranny every where even at at home, you have my undying repect and loyalty
to those of you defending it as I have stated above:
yeah flame me
I said COWARDLY
Like those of you that are letting your children get porno scanned and groped based on the underwearbomber which was a PROVEN US government fraud to keep AMERICA SAFE...Cowardly

to those of you who let Israel kill your citizens on the flotilla and on the USS Liberty...and who are assisting the tyranny to spread
Double wammy on you

You want to flame me for holding up a mirror to your wine go right ahead
here have a piece of cheeze with that wine.

PS after what some "americans" have said about other contries and races that isn't even true and IS HATEFUL to justify this behavior, and who are wining on this thread:
oh suck it up bucko

While you are on a rampage against the killer American government, please include a list of all other countries that have killed their own citizens.

Unless you are willing to do so, because it happens, well, then that speaks volumes for your post.

There is no winning or losing here, as all nations can rack up the points you are trying to collect!

And the fact that other countries have done it = that makes it all ok!

Well actually, you bring up academic rigor as an analogy, not so good.

When in the real world, do you not use all aspects of endeavor? No, I am not bringing up theft, but in real world situations, you do and attempt to use outside help. Hell, when I got my A&P license, during the practical examination I grabbed a professor. The examiners asked me what I was doing and I told them I was doing something that any practical person would do in the field of aviation, they would use extraneous information. Passed with flying colors.

OP, I am going to assume that you use the past events of war, such as WWI and WWII as your main points, stating that the American government entered or started these wars so that they could kill off soldiers in order to keep the populous to pay taxes?

You know, the anarchy thing is really getting old and looks immature. I understand that you wish to keep every hard earned dollar for your own consumptious life style, but unfortunately there are other people out there who don't mind paying modest taxes when they get services in return that assist them in their lifestyle and help others.

I would like to know how anarchy and politicians are any different? Both are extremely selfish and only self interested. If you believe that American went to war just to kill it's own citizens and keep the rest of the people paying taxes, I would suggest you crack open a history text book. (Or are those corrupted too?)

Well, I'm glad you don't mind paying taxes. Another word for income tax is 'interest on the loan' - ie. interest on the money which the private banking cartel, called the Federal Reserve, which creates and then lends the money to the government, and charges interest. The loan will never be repaid. But income tax is collected to pay the interest on the loan, which is pure profit for the private banksters who own the Fed Res, ie. billions of dollars of profit for the already super wealthy. That's what your income tax does, it doesn't help the people in the country one bit...that is a lie, a trick played on you by the government.

So, I'm glad, you're glad, that you are handing over your money to the bankster masters so they can use your money to enslave you further.
