look at Greece ... another confirmations
and all the expert who confirm the evident coming super crash...

This is just a bank robbery by the pen vs. the gun.

The 14 trillion is just the government debt, the real problem will
be when they unspool the $1,500 trillion in global derivatives.

That is what truly crashed Greece and Iceland.

The lose fiscal policy didn't help matters, but why were they loaning
money to ppl that should not qualify for home loans ?

Oh that is right...the CRA...

en.wikipedia.org...

Basically the government told banks to make bad loans.

Incredibly stupid idea, but again in the grand scheme of things
the home loans are a joke compared to the derivatives monster,
and the bailouts could have paid off IN FULL all the foreclosed homes.

What we got was Trillions for banksters for bonuses for doing a bad job.

How many ppl do you know that get a bonus cause they suck ???

Now these bailout recipients claim record profits after the bailouts
and used a lot of the money to buy smaller banks.

The merger of corporate and government power is fascism.

We have held it as a symbol in out government for a long while.

en.wikipedia.org...

So when ppl ask why it is like it is maybe they should take the
blinders off and say " Oh ! that is why ! "

LOL

Looks like the Brits about on half behind the US.

They owe per person appx 21,300 US dollars per capita.

The US owes 43,156 US dollars per capita.

Hey, how is it that the Brits, though having more social help, are less in debt?

I know why, just asking a rhetorical question.

edit to add-oops, forgot to include the State share of debt, in New York add another 16,292 US dollars.

The planet is fighting back and we are fighting a losing battle... we destroy bits of it every day but in larger numbers now more than ever - I don't care what you want to say, natural disasters are getting far worse and we will see an increase.

However, if you don't agree with that you most likely agree that human-made disasters are climbing like crazy (although they've always happened) and eventually something too huge is going to happen that creates a butterfly effect/domino effect... in fact it may be happening as we speak, I wouldn't doubt it.

I wouldn't mind living through more hell than I already am to give future generations something to look back at and learn from, I've already had a hard life and I'm still very young. I admit a lot of it has been from my mistakes, but now that I've gotten past all that, nothing has gotten better, and that just shows me it was never all my fault - but I do take responsibility for the things I did wrong.

I want change - period. I hope you all do too because it's coming whether or not you're ready.

Im loving the oportunity im having rignt now but at the same time i am so surprise how you guys (supost) first world, don't know anything about the rest the world. Most of the people i meet didin't care or give a fuc.. if any war is wrong or not, as long US is profiting..... ok, fine!

I saw yesterday on Euronews that although companies slowed their rebuilding of inventories, imports grew "32.4 percent, the largest increase in imports in 26 years".

Does anyone have any idea of what may be behind this strange rise in imports?

At that point, the last straw will fall, and we will have to slash our military budget to a fraction..after living a couple years with no troops abroad, no weapons being invested in, etc etc etc, and living in general peace, we can rebuild without the concept that we need a hyper inflated military budget...just a tiny token force of nerds and robots to protect the homeland and that is it...let the rest of the world sort out their own problems and stop trying to find enemies to test new tech on...pretty simple.

If thats what it takes for America to start walking in the right direction, then so be it unfortunately.

Its not just this that needs to change in the US, its the US dream that needs to change. The dream that they are incharge and the best at everything. They are only percieved to be the best and strongest because they hide behind money. Its the American people i feel sorry for, they have been led down the rocky path of "live completely outta your means, live the hollywood dream".

What needs to happen is all world economy crashes, there is a world war to sort out all the crap and get rid of all governemts, we then retreat to our own plot of land, farm, trade and live in harmony without ever ever ever leting a king, governor, mayor, president or prime minieter ever be elected again.

Here here! well put... I am sooo rich rich RICH... ...living on my small farm... I would not trade the fresh air, birds singing.. roosters crowing, the train whistle all night... running creek...fresh canned food and eggs , well water, (no floride) home grown beef and chickens to eat.... well you see the picture. who can compare this to ANY mall, TV, or material items.....My life changed from a six figure city income to a poor country bumpkin when I "lost it all".... But I feel richer than ever.

God Bless USA and what is coming... We all need to get prepared and have a plan....

here's my guess...

the rise of 'imports' might be because the cost of shipping the goods is low,
it does not compute to me that the goods were ordered because demand is strong for the imported goods...as consumer demand is quite contracted for the last 12 months

the foreign suppliers have goods already made and stored in containers,
why not ship them to anticipated markets instead of storing the products at their company facilities...
because the foreign ports will store and guard those shipping containers for you for free.

According to www.marketwatch.com
www.marketwatch.com...
US consumers loaded up on drugs, tv's, and furniture. Apparently people with jobs are buying tv's, ipads, and new smart phones. I'm not sure who is buying the furniture. Over a 30 percent surge in imports is pretty big. We don't seem to make too much electronic consumer products here in the US anymore. I recently bought a new pc to replace a very old one and I'm sure most of the components were probably made elsewhere.

but the AMERICAN DREAM you seek is fadding aways

they are 600 millions americans in the USA
before .. almost all of the 600 millions where living in decent condition
now .. more than the half of this 600 millions live almost in poverty
the american dream is slowly but surely disapearing
much worst is in the horizon for the economy

yes its around that number .. cant really tell the exact number

i live in Canada .. we are the second largest country in the world
with only 30 millions peoples

the Quebec province i live is the biggest province of Canada
with only 6 millions peoples... we have so many space to live
its the biggest fresh water reserve in the world...
its a little bit colder of course lol ..
in the summer we can also have 100F temperature
but when its in winter .. we have 6 feet of snow and some night are -40degree
.. we have the best of both world

i was in North Carolina a few weeks back .. 110F + humidity is to much hot for me ahahah.. i had massive sun burns lol
now the skin is still pelling

in conclusion i wanted to say if the USA suffer more .. like the economy crash .. come to Canada and live here

we are also North American .. like you guys

the only thing we dont have sadly is the Crackel Barrel restaurant and those Waffle house .. so good ahahah
i beleive if it get much worst inside the USA
more than 10 millions US citizens will move to Canada
worst case scenario .. half of the 600 millions will move up to the north...
our border .. are not at all protected .. some of them yes but not the entire border line west to east

how many of ATS members have considered to move to Canada one day if things get worst inside the US ????
or will you go to Mexico instead

i never went to Mexico but it look like pretty much dangerous and the temperature seems to be VERY hot ..

- 2010 estimate 310,101,000

your right loll .. i just checked it on Wiki ..
i though it was 600

- 2010 estimate 1,338,612,968 .. thats china ..
thats a lot of people .. im sure the china goverment one time or still have a plan to expend their territory and go to the american north continent
it would be a swarm if they want North American ..
like the US in 1930 .. i have heard they wanted to invade Canada .. since it would be terribly easy to invade us loll ...
it would be a 5 millions dollars war to win compare to Irak that costed more than a trillions dollars..

Because they decided we make better policeman of the world.

They decided to let the US pay for the bulk of the cost for the
corrupt and crooked UN.

We have a giant victim mentality under class that lines up at
the trough for free hand outs.

Instead of 41 million on food stamps, how about 41 million ppl
work at community gardens like they do in europe ???

Here in the US local suppliers are unable to compete with 3rd world
nation labor that works for pennies an hour vs. dollars an hour.

So the local businesses start shutting down and import goods,
farmers cannot afford to grow crops with all the added cost.

Lenin Put it best...

The way to crush the bourgeoisie is to grind them between the millstones of taxation and inflation. ~ Vladimir Lenin

So your local economy contracts and there are fewer jobs.

This is all by design.

The WTO and all the ultra rich backing it are just finding a new way
to bring in goods with no tariffs and bankrupt 1st world nations so
they can buy up the businesses and properties on the cheap once
it hits great depression levels.

There is nothing new under the sun, this tactic has been used before.

The Chinese have found they can simply take the massive debt we
owe them and buy our politicians with it.

They can just buy our nation a little at a time.

I guess they read Sun Tze who said the ultimate victory is
when you can win without fighting.

That is how the Loral deal for advanced missile guidance systems was
done, and if you or I had done that deal we would be held for treason
for selling advanced guidance system tech for nuclear weapons to
a communist nation.

So china can take all these nations without firing a shot.

The city of Industry in California is basically their land now.

The port of Long Beach is basically their land now.

They own large shares of multi national corporations with offices
right here in the US.

All the goods that come to the US via COSCO is a never ending
revenue stream for them.

But not only due they ship the goods , they make the goods too.

The working conditions at the Iphone plant are so bad ppl jump
out the windows and kill themselves.

www.thefirstpost.co.uk...

Working conditions that are illegal here are used there to sell us
goods for a lower price, when they should be illegal.

The law should be that anyone selling goods in the US must do so
under the same laws that apply here.

For tickles and giggles they made fake IC chips to put in cisco
routers that ended up in the pentagon and the US government
and had a total back door into all US network traffic.

hardware.slashdot.org...

They did this to other nations as well.

www.independent.co.uk...

The war is already underway, and they are winning.

The truly hilarious part is all they have to do is buy off our corrupt
piece of turd politicians and they help them subvert our nations.

Based on how most ppl are distracted by bread and circuses
I might even go so far as to say the war is over, and we lost.
