If any of my fellow ATS members live in close proximity of a medical or nursing school; please look into the Standardized patient program. This is a
course of study where potential physicians interview and diagnose standardized patients that are actually actors pretending to be sick in one form or
another; to give them experience in actually dealing on a one to one, with real sick folks.
It pays fairly well, especially for the "invasive" types of procedures and helps out medical students, nurses and sometimes law students.
The added benefit for actors is that it gives us a chance to network and find possible auditions and roles in the movies.
