How Do You Unfriend A Person You Never Friended?

I'm not exactly a freshman anymore, but I have a perplexing issue:

A certain member shows up on my threads designated as a friend by a green stripe at the top of his/her avatar. In addition, on his/her profile I am included on the list of people who have chosen this member as a friend.

The trouble is, this person is NOT on my list of friends on my profile. Normally, I can just remove a person from my list by clicking the x by their name on my own profile.

But this member isn't there.

I don't want to "foe" this member because I don't feel antagonistic toward him/her. I just don't feel they have enough in common with me to be considered a friend.

Any advice?

goto your personal home profile and scroll down to the bottomish on the left you'll see your friends...think it a red x with a circlwe aropund it....

It's a glitch that has been known for a while.

The person has some characters the same as someone on your friends list. Sometimes they do show up on your friend list on your profile page, sometimes they only show up as the green bar in threads.

This issue will be fixed with the release of the new ATS layout.

It happens when a member has a similar username to a member you friended.

Easy solution: Ignore it

Unbelievably complicated solution that doesn't always work:

1. Find the friend in your list that has a similar username
2. Un-friend them
3. Find the member who is showing up as a friend but isn't
4. Foe them
5. Go back and re-friend your original friend
6. Un-foe the other member and send them a polite U2U telling them you foed them by accident and have now un-foed them
7. Pray
