I watched Mum and Dad recently, it's a low budget British Horror flick, pretty good, nice and sick, I enjoyed it!

Mum and Dad

Burning bright

A thriller centered on a young woman and her autistic little brother who are trapped in a house with a ravenous tiger during a hurricane.

Doesn't sound like much but I was on the edge of my seat at parts....

Thanks for the two suggestions above , I haven't seen either of those Looking forward to watching them!

I liked the remake of When a Stranger Calls.. and in terms of a really good thriller, I liked Secret Window starring Johnny Depp based on the novel by Steven King.

I used to love horror movies- especially on teenage years-
now I just find them all so silly. And predictable.
Specially the last horror movies are gross/disgusting to watch - ew, :shk: but NOT scary!-
I haven't found any movie that gives me the chills. so, yeah I'm still looking for that special movie.

Here is a list of Aussie horror flicks there are a lot here i have not seen that look good.

The list only seems to go up to 1993 there have been some good ones since then.

Here is a more recent one I enjoyed but not for everyone

More good stuff here!

The Hills have eyes is exactly the kind of thing that makes me cringe, and not in a good way..
too much and

not enough

I love horror flickies, I have to recommend Dario Argentos 'SUSPIRIA', its different, it has the perfect music to create that eerie feeling, it makes no sense, and it makes loads of sense at the same time. That and I liked silent hill.

Was watching one the other oldie from the 70's I of John Carpenter's...

"The Prince of Darkness" (I think was the title).

Of course, his "The Fog" was pretty disturbingly creepy too

I've been made to watch The Fog about 100 times by my girlfriend, for some bizarre reason both her and her sister find the pirate fog ghosts really sexy

I just finished watching Mum and Dad and Burning Bright..

To the poster that suggested Mum and Dad
You are about 1 centimeter away from making it to my official enemies list, that was truly one of the most horrible bits of Horror porn that I have ever had the displeasure to sit through Truly disgusting. LOL

Burning bright was pretty cool though as it had horror suspense and a big cute kitty cat. Two thumbs up for you

How about "The Entity" (poltergeist horror), or "After.LIfe" (fear of death horror), or "Pandorum" (psychological horror)?

Just a few off of the top of my head.

I was going to mention that one, I always thought the premise was good (it was made 1987 btw).

I also like Pantasm and the original Omen. The scene where he opens the tomb and finds his dead son along with the jackal skeleton was always unsettling.

I'm going to add a recommendation to my own list.

I just watched "Bug" last night and it was excellent, horror mixed with conspiracy theory and madness, a really though provoking film and pretty scary too.
A lot of the dialog could have been lifted straight from some of the more esoteric ATS threads.

Here is the imdb page for anyone that wants to see it

Christ and I thought August Underground was bad...

One of the most wrong things I have ever seen.

I apologise (profusely) if anyone actually watches this.

The two that came to mind for me are Misery and Boxing Helena I guess it depends on the person but the thought of being trapped by some kook creeps me out.

Gates of Hell is okay. Lots of gore.

100 Feet is another good one. Ghost movie.

The Howling is good. Got to love werewolves lol.

I also liked The Stand

It is good, too. It scares my friend. He's terrified of clowns lol.

Night of the Creeps is a good zombie movie.

That's all I can think of now. Sweet dreams.

I would suggest a movie called "REC"

The movie Quarantine was actually the american version, but in terms of scariness, it doesnt compare to the original Spanish version. The only problem is the subtitles

Two that are off the radar but which are very good are "Marebito" by the dude who directed "Ju On" and it's the first movie I can remember ever dealing with the Shaver Mystery and Hollow Earth stuff in a horror setting.

The other is "7th Moon" which is also totally original and creepy and involves Chinese folklore.
