Other info: She resides in Ocala, FL, most likely she found this near horses/farm animals. Sorry she didn't include anything for scale!

Feline....most likely bobcat...

ETA...if very close to water ...it could be a mink..

It honestly looks like the badly decomposed body of a dog to me.

Oops... didn't notice the whiskers so, yes a cat of some kind.

I think you guys are are prolly hitting it with the cat theory...Did some googlin' on minks, and I don't think thats a match (minks have a very tubular, elongated skull, eyes set to sides, not above nose as in this).

Please anyone feel free to share if you have other theories or want to elaborate on the cats idea!

What gets me is the eyebrow whiskers...that has to be a fairly unique identifier for species.

EDIT: To spell "eloberate" correctly ;P

I'm with the other posters, this is obviously a rotted house cat.

Looks like a freshwater otter, to me. We have some huge ones in our lake. I think that they have those eyebrow whiskers, also. Really cute and funnt to watch, but have serious teeth. It kinda reminds me of a mink, though, too.

It prolly is just a housecat...

But since I have been wasting my morning chasing this thing's tail, here's some other candidates from the FL area as well...
Jaguarundi
en.wikipedia.org...
Bobcat
en.wikipedia.org...
Skunk, but you'd thin the stripe would be seen
en.wikipedia.org...

Thanks Jennybee, I was looking at those two as well, but didn't think they were a good enuf fit. Ears on this specimen seem to large to be a match, but who knows, you might be right!

I think a more important question here is why is somebody posting a corpse of an animal on facebook?

I think that thing is going to be pissed when it finds out it hasn't been tagged....tsk tsk....
