hello guys; can i ask you for some help please?

i tried a method for astral project; what i did is lay on my bed, (almost naked with just my underwear) close my eyes and then i began slowly inhaling and exhaling (during the exhale i counted 1...2...3; i also was inhaling through the nose and exhaling through the mouth); i repeated the inhaling/exhaling process a few times and then i imagined myself falling or climbing down through a staircase; to keep the image clear was impossible for me but i focused on the blackness in front of me (maybe the back of the eyelids, i don't know actually) and then i tried to focus more on the actual steps i was taking downwards through the staircase to the darkness; then i felt tingling sensations through my body - if i was more focused the tingling sensations were stronger, if i lost focus the sensations weakened; then while the tingling sensations were taking place my heart began beating faster and faster and it was getting harder and harder to keep my eyes closed - my eyelids were trembling vividly; then i opeded my eyes - the tingling through my body stopped - the only thing that remained was the rapid beating of my heart; then i decided to stop for the night and go to sleep; but around 6:00 am (i usually wake up at around 8:30-9) i woke up - dunno why; i was sleepy and i think i heard some kind of whispering behind me... maybe i was awakened by it? well, i payed no big attention (after all it was my imagination) and went back to sleep; was that maybe the best time to astral project? when i woke up 2-3 hours before my usual wake up time?

is this normal - is this what it is supposed to happen?

thank you very much

I would love if someone could help me with something. Earlier on in the year i had a bad night sleeping, after finally drifting off to sleep i remember waking up and my whole body was frozen, i couldnt move at all but for some reason i wasnt scared i just lied there and eventually drifted off to sleep, then i woke up again (well shot up quickly) so i was sat straight up in bed, but i remember looking behind me and seeing my body laying on the pillow. Now i was afraid, i honestly thought i had died but i just thought to myself i want to be back and i snapped back to my own body, i didnt travel anywhere i was sa up in bed while my body was still lying down. Was this and Out of body experience? Or maybe astral travel? I don't know if they are the same thing would just love to know if someone could help me with what happened? I would love to astral travel im just afraid i guess of not being able to return (even though i have read up on this and have heard i only need to think i want to go back home and i will.) Thanks for reading, any advice would be great.

A few weeks ago I experienced these vibrations not too long after falling asleep. I awoke to my whole body vibrating, I remembered this post and tried to leave my body. I had success and walked around my room, however, it felt like a dream so I am not sure if it was a dream or if I really did astral project.

thankyou, this really helped.
D my step dad has had experiences with OBE's where he was being picked up and twirled around the room like a lasso, or a ceiling fan. apparently by an invisible force... this happened every night. O.o

I'm sorry I haven't been around to answer questions. I kind of lost interest in this website and there are many other things drawing my attention. But I'll be around for a bit later today perhaps, it's pulling me back in! I also have an astral projection story.

You want that heavy flow of melatonin / seratonin!! So its best when waking from a nap or a long sleep where you wake up and your mind is a random mess.

They sell it in the drugstore for jetlag, and its an antioxidant, is a really good supplement, but it puts me to sleep. Still would it be useful?

Also, vitamin C, I've heard its best to take a few grams before bed, is this a good idea for either lucid dreaming or astral projection?

Also, if its just an energy/chi body, what is the big deal with the chord? I actually think that there may be different degrees or levels of astral projection?

Also listening to delta waves could help?

I've tried it. It just made me sleepy too, and only temporarily, and I got the extra strength stuff. I find there is no best substitute to just plain ol' meditation the day before, and maybe then, even consistently for a while. Again also with anything intention plays a factor, your subconscious focus, if the dream world reflects subconscious thoughts and symbols, well.. there you go. I haven't been astral projecting in a long time now because I have no desire to even bother. These days I'm just focused on getting a good sleep. Very material these days.

Pretty much anything that engages your brain on different levels and gets you imagining and throwing that 3rd eye on pretty much helps make the dream time vivid I find. So again, meditating on / stimulating the 3rd eye seems good for encouraging that kind of experience to come forward.

Also, vitamin C, I've heard its best to take a few grams before bed, is this a good idea for either lucid dreaming or astral projection?

I have no idea. I've read and experimented with vitamin C, and how it helps with iron absorption. And the iron carries the oxygen, in the blood to the body.. so I would consider this a chi thing or natural body energy thing. So just as nutrition helps your body energy, again so do certain kinds of meditation with emphasis on body energy. I've had a very powerful astral experience the night after I did some "bone breathing"..energy amplifying and condensing.. I do think energy is required, chi or body energy, or maybe the etheric energy, or its one in the same, i try not to separate things, its all the same concept to me.. but yes.. i've noted when astral projections have drained me so I would say it requires an energy of some kind.

Also, if its just an energy/chi body, what is the big deal with the chord? I actually think that there may be different degrees or levels of astral projection?

Well.. I think experiences are limited only to the imagination of the universe.. so I have no doubt and would hope there are other levels. The astral is so strange and different feeling each time that I don't see the point in trying to put it in a structure like that but i'm sure some people who are more adept to the different levels find different uses in them. The cord. I don't know man. I've talked to a guy about that who is constantly astral traveling, he doesn't see it either. We both kind of think it could be some fear mechanism.. people so afraid of death that even in another realm of consciousness they tether themselves so they can go explore without being afraid. Kind of like tieing a rope around yourself and then going to explore a cave or something. Just a theory. I have never seen the cord but I do feel i've had some experiences you could define as an astral projection or something of that nature, like a lucid dream but more defined and contained in an area and relies on body energy.

Also listening to delta waves could help?

If you find out if it does, let me know, i'd be interested.

I am going to keep trying, because I had some more promising results, though not out of body. I've been sick for days and been using this to meditate alot, several times a day. I put a blind over my eyes. I was using hemisync, and I do my own routine, place everything in Father/Mother and Family, in short all that is the True Love and Goodness in existences hands, and asked for an experience that would help grow my understanding and a conscious obe.

I set the intentions, ie. I said several times that my third eye was open, and my melatonin production amped up. And for the obe.

Now I've had rushes upon rushes of vibrations before, and remote viewing, mental projection type obe's but not the kind with the cord, while conscious, though I assume the other happens during sleep. I had set the intention yesterday, and found myself for exactly 30 minutes blanked out of the meditation. I came round on the next one on the mp3 player. So I wasn't allowed to remember something.

Today, for the first time, the ringing in my ears, and the vibrations got turned up really loud, almost frightened me, it was intense. That happened several times, as i repeated the meditation because often the first hour just gets me really into the state good. I also found I was paralyzed and couldn't move. That had never happened before. I kept picturing myself standing outside on the trampoline looking up at t;he sky, and really feeling it underneath my bare feet.

I kept seeing this city in the sky, with whole mountains and forests, but they were like rooms you went into and it was like a picture book you could turn the page on. That was more akin to a mental projection though.

But I have a feeling, if I keep doing this now, perhaps should try every day, and that intense alarming vibrations comes back repeatedly, I could be close to finally having this occur.

I have overcome fear on it too, I just watched Monroe interview, and he said, that when he was terrified of it he finally reasoned, well the worst thing it could do is kill him, so he just went through it. He said he kept riding it out for about 5 minutes for a few weeks, I think, and then he was out, near the roof.

I feel setting intentions is a very positive way and helped alot.

Although I can astrally project, its safer to mentally project, theres no "cord" or "vibrations", you simply develop your imagination to the point that you can enter your own dreams. In the astral world, I often come under attack at various times, I need to hold on to my astral spirit for the time being.

I recommend that people start with simply using thier imaginations. If you can sit and daydream, and imagine doing different things, all you have to do is take the next step and "step in" to your mind. Astral projection is different, as it is partially physical, whereas mental projection is totally safe and within the imagination.

Sometimes, on the rare occasion, when I am imagining, I open my eyes, I am physically awake in my own body, and I actually see a different world, the walls come alive, things develop a kind of spaciousness. I beleive that it is what the fourth dimension is like, it is a different perceptual state, as opposed to a different physical/energetic state.

That is the reason I've had fear of this in the past, was due to the monitoring and experiences, being well aware that there is both sides in a duality around us all the time. And not really wishing to encounter some of what Mr. Green shared in her threads. However, I'm losing fear altogether. The worst scenario is they kill me, which I don't believe they can, and I am off the hook for the rest of this. I tend to treat everyone as if they're sane, normal and loving beings, and family, even if they're looking a little off, and perhaps a bit more like a monster, that would simply be a mask built up from disassociating with their light. I would ask that their light be increased and insight healed more so they have more free will choices.. And expect the best, otherwise I cancel out all negativity. I've been working on myself, more and more, for I feel its our Love we have to grow, unconditional Love, so battling anyone is not for me. I would be attempting retrievals if necessary:

forums.astraldynamics.com...
Programming Experiment 3: Retrieval Lessons

Here is another interesting link, Phasing types of Obe's.
gentlenurse.wordpress.com...

Phasing is simply travelling where you want to go in the astral or afterlife planes (or this plane, for that matter) by using your mind.
I usually activate my third eye (between my brows) just by focusing on it. Just thinking about the third eye area causes it to kind of “vibrate” or tingle and you know it is up and running, ready for use. I visualize a blue light tunnel whirling round and round like the tunnel Jodie Foster saw in Contact, very similar. This tunnel seems always to be there, ready for action, even long before I knew anything about metaphysical things or anything about astral travel. I wonder if this area, when it begins to tingle and respond, is actually part of the astral body at that point, which would explain why it connects us to the astral plane so readily.....

So more akin to mental projection. He/She also attempts retrievals.

In other words I've just lost the fear element, alot more, which might have been the block. And more unconditional love, and also have a lot of faith in Family, Higher/Infinite Self. If its not your time, they're not going to let you off the hook here, in these earth lessons.

I'm not sure but typically after an experience like that I feel the need to circulate the energy around and out of my head because I'll get headaches hours later. I find that's really my only concern, and also trying to replenish energy if I feel like it has been a draining experience but it's been a while since I felt that.

If you feel the need to close something off or balance something out I would go with that urge.

I wanted to post an experience I had a couple months ago. This is what I would consider a mental projection and a telepathic exchange, it was pretty intense and thorough and I could hardly recall it when I woke up.

I'll start by saying this, with what's going on in life and my current priorities, I've felt no need to project, and so I haven't. So again I would re-enforce that intention makes the universe go round, or at the very least guides you into certain experiences.

So again, this was the last astral experience that I had really consciously planned.

So I was laying in bed, woke up with the vibrations and I told myself I'd try to make the best of the experience. I put the sincerity out there that I really did want to learn something instead of just play around and cause potential karmatic problems or whatever stuff I would usually get up to. So I really really asked to make contact with someone or something and learn something. As I went into the vibrations I went into a mental projection.

I saw an earth like planet from orbit, with 2 space ships with some lights on them slowly passing over. I heard a woman's voice in my head and she said "I got your message..bla bla bla".. like I said I didn't remember much and I think I wrote some of it down but can't find it. I saw her face, she looked human with brown braided hair that looked like it went behind her head and was tied or something. She proceeded to tell me how to manifest my reality. She told me that I had to absolutely believe that I could and I experienced a moment, a feeling that was without any doubt and total certainty of this nature deep within, that was pretty cool. I saw flashes of images and she was explaining a lot of stuff really fast, I didn't really say anything, she just kept talking and I kept learning all in like mental imagery and telepathy. I recall as some point seeing like a blue hologram of a human brain and she was telling me about the right frontal cortex in its role of this manifestation. She was explaining telekinesis and was talking about the edges of an "object", explaining everything in a very complex way I just instantly understood but definitely could recall. It was around that moment where I lost connection and woke up. The experience was may more intense then I could recall or explain. Like I feel like I retained 5% of what actually transpired but it was something else.

So yeah.. mental projection, and generally opening yourself up for certain experiences. Try and go in with an agenda.. even if that agenda is to have an open experience, so what I really mean is just don't be blocking yourself from it, protecting yourself, uncertain, insincere, etc, or you just won't do it. Like all things in life I find they happen when we are ready, the timing of everything seems perfect, seems to make sense and generally flows with what's goin' on with everyone else. It seems that way to me, so why would the other layers of consciousness be any different? Intention. Make that connection with your subconscious and know what its ready for, what it's trying to tell you, and eventually it will just happen because it would be the natural course of action required, the flow.

I want to get to where I can do this at will. I'm not sure if I've got it yet. But I will soon work on it. Can you do this from any position or just the meditation posture?

Can't say.

The most success I've had with astral projection or the mental projection listed above was when I was laying on my back. If you can get comfortable enough in a sitting position to essentially let go of the body, then by all means give it a shot. I actually have this issue with meditation where I go too deep and I gotta keep throwing my head up because you let go of the body and wants to relax into a natural position so if you're posture isnt' great, you're going to have some issues no doubt.

I just lay on my back, when I've consciously set out to do it in say the afternoon or just waking up.. I mean its sleep man.. but utilizing the consciousness and energy of that. In a deep trace you can achieve the same thing as well, bypassing the sleep process but not all that different from it. I've actually found that after a period of long meditation or any meditation really, when i've gone to sleep i've often had lucid experiences.

Anyways, astral projection. It works best for me laying on my back, i've done it laying on my side before though as well. I'd advise against laying on your stomach but if you can make it work, go for it. I find I can do it easily laying on my stomach, something about the position is comfortable enough that I can induce the sleep paralysis state, but then I have a hard time projecting. Its possibly only a mental block but it's like I can't pull myself out backwards or go forwards through the matress/couch /whatever. As well, when I do achieve it, I'm very conscious of my breathing, my physical face right against the pillow, it feels like i'm suffocating the whole time.

I'd rather take the risk of losing the sleep paralysis state and try to flip myself onto my back if I can, it just goes much much smoother for me.

Let's open this thread back up.

There is a ton of really great information and tips in the OP, plus i have a lot to say on the subject.

Thanks so much for your insights. I've had sleep paralysis since i can remember. in the past year it has picked up ten fold, raise in consciousness maybe?

I find myself wanting to explore this other side a lot recently, like my consciousness is screaming at me to just relax and do it, even though i'm not totally paying attention to it.

Some may say they wish they could experience being out of body as much as i do, and that i don't utilize it enough, well it's because i do have a lot of fear once i find myself in SP and my astral self wanting to leave my body.

Well im getting rid of that fear, i will explore this, i WILL open my eyes when i am about to leap out of my body.

I WILL.

Thanks for sharing, that's a great story.

What i take from it is the part about intention, to go into things with an idea of what you want out of it.

That has been something i haven't been doing. I've been experiencing sleep paralysis a ton recently and i find myself floating out of my body. I know it's going to happen before i fall asleep due to the vibration in my head and body. So i need to form an intention of what i want, and what i will do when it happens again.

Thank you

There is a great iphone app called "AlteredStates" that plays different delta and beta waves through headphones along with relaxing noise (rain, storms, the ocean)

You can select what kind of experience you wish to have (Astral Projection, "natural high", meditation). You must use headphones though so the waves are being directed right into your left and right ears. It's only 2.99 and it well worth it, i would've payed atleast 10 bucks for it.

I've found it really helps me get into a meditation, every time i've used it it's kicked up my vibrations, sometimes it's so intense that my whole body will shudder. Last night when i was using it, about 20 minutes in i felt like my entire bed was shaking.

At the very least it'll promote lucid dreaming.

Important is you must return to your body by the end of hour 3 and the start of hour 4 because at Hour 6 rigor mortis begins and is in most cases irreversible.

Rigor mortis is when your body stiffens after you die and starts at the beginning of hour 6 (Minute 360).

In the event you awaken before you fully come back your body has an auto setting that allows for a fast transition.

If you feel like when you awaken of being short of breath this means you re-entred too fast. Keep calm, keep your head clear of all thoughts and distractions, breathe normally, let nothing startle you.

Can anybody help, the only thing stopping me from doing Astral Projection is the fear right as my body is going numb it starts tingling and kind of freaks me out a bit, I have no fear of being possessed or any fears of anything that'd happen during Astral Projection, I don't really understand my fear its like a fear of the feeling of leaving my body because I've never done it.

Thanks
