I've just started reading up on the life of this gentleman, several years after spending a short amount of time at a irish commune that tried to use many of his principals, mainly homeopathic remedies in treating livestock and his guidelines for agriculture.

From what I've just found on google it appears as if he was also a freemason, and had some very interesting ideas about the nature of the world.

Rudolf (with an "f") Steiner was a fascinating individual and enormously influential a century ago in everything from economics to Chekhov's dramatic theories.
He was deeply concerned with what he believed to be the "scientific" approach to life and is well worth reading.
Nowadays, he's best remembered for his educational theories.
Not what Estragon wanted for the mini-Estragons but I have several friends who sent their children to Steiner schools and were very, very happy with the education the children received.
Any posters who have or who will have children of pre-school age might profit from reading up on Steiner.
