The year is 2030, North Korea advances across the DMZ into South Korea. 120 pilots of the USAF scramble to their cockpits. They launch their aircraft. Some aircraft move to engage the enemy, while others occupy station keeping orbits in friendly air space. The battle is intense. THe USAF suffers 90% loss in aircraft, but have air superiority over the skys of North and South Korea. Replacement aircraft are in the process of being dispatched to the area.

Following the combat, all 120 USAF pilots are debriefed in an operations center at Nellis AFB just north of Las Vegas NV, then head to the officer's club to unwind.

The USAF suffered no loss of pilots. No recue missions were launched.

----------------

This is due to a Breakthrough in Quantum Teleportation which allows for the instant transfer of information, developed into a quatum communications system and installed in UCAVs and the UCAV control centers.

Imagine, real time control of a UCAV regardless of the distance between the UCAV and it's controller, allowing one group of pilots in the US to be able to control UCAVs stationed anywhere in the world, at any time, in response to any potential threat. Pilots would receive and send information as though they were actually in the cockpit.

This will be the ultimate force multiplier.

Fun? Since when was war suppose to be fun?

I think it is fairly safe to assume one of the major restraints of UCAVs is communication delay. If communication delay was removed, there is no longer a reason to have a pilot in the aircraft.
