It seems the suits behind the scenes have found a way to get at the wikileaks founder - by having him accused of raping two women (who know each other) at their houses on two different occasions.

Twenty dollars says that he really did rape two women. He is not a journalist. He is a hacker with a website. Big difference. Hackers are criminals to begin with. Who is to say that he didn't get caught up in his celebrity status?

Now he is a rapist, hacker, and killer.

Hm, well, we'll see.

Everyone wants to believe it's a setup, but in truth Assange could have raped these woman. I'll wait and see. I'm sure the dozens of myths people have about rapists are going to be spewed forth. The truth is most rapists aren't little sullen, ugly men who can't get any. Most of the time they are popular, attractive and could have gotten it from someone else. As for it not making sense-When does Rape make sense?

I think most of you are far too trusting.

First off, Hackers are not "Criminals"...that's a misconception. I won't go into detail but just go google "What is a hacker", you'll find not all "hackers" are the kind that commit computer crimes.

Second, atleast SOME of the US MSM are catching on....

CNN

CNN headlines say "Smear Campaign suspected.

Although I think that confirms what plenty on ATS are thinking.... Time will tell!

According to the police in Sweden, he is charged in his absence for this crime. The police feel they have probable cause. But, there women who were raped have not made a complaint. According to the newspaper who wanted to publish the column by Julian, they have frozen all the cooperation until further notice. But, you should really need the article about this. I linked it to google translate for you:

translate.google.com...

There have been threats to Julian by Pentagon. This is easily found by googling "pentagon warns wikileaks". There are official press-releases backing this up.

'You obtuse piece of flotsam' as Q would say.

Hackers are the guys that build your bridges, make your roads, design your airplanes, create your technology, cook your meals, haul your trash, connect your calls, drive your ambulances and guard you while you sleep.

Unless you want to put yourself into the criminal category even coming up with that opinion makes you a hacker.

Do your research/Lurk moar.

That's precisely the reason for the need of websites such as ATS.

Most people are indeed far too trusting, that's exactly why the majority of people believe what they are fed by their governments and associated media.

I've never met Assange, and i've never met folks from any alphabet agency either (not knowingly anyway), but given the circumstances of the last few months, concerning the leaks, and obvious embarrassment of the 'agencies', i would be much more prepared to trust Assange over the others, based on common sense and past history of those concerned.

The 'agencies' lie and obfuscate for a living. Assange exposes those lies and hidden facts.

It's stupendously obvious to anyone with a critical mindset what is happening here. Or it should be.

I agree. Assange has already shown that he can avoid another country's jurisdiction. If you think about this guy's resources, Assange does have the capability to move around quickly. Money, contacts, etc...

If he is capable of breaking the law as a hacker, Assange could very well feel empowered by the whole experience. Some people get off on the thrill of the chase, and they usually tempt fate to keep getting a boost.

I bet he did rape two people.

But why does Assange expose those facts? You think the man is pure of heart? I don't trust Assange either.

So predictable indeed! When will they come up with new tricks to try and get someone to stop what they are doing or keep there mouth shut. Looks like that "Secret" File that was encrypted might be released to the world sooner than we thought

Looks like our 'friendly' admin are on a mission today.

Can anyone confirm or deny this with strict evidence of formal charges etc taking place?

Because if not, I'm going to have a word with a few hacker bods I know about getting a nice DDOS attack or a RickRoll going on this tabloid.

Parallex.

You are assuming something. If you've never met the man you can't really what he's going for can you? He might have agenda of his own that I can't be down with. People rarely do things with unselfish motives. So no, I don't trust him. I don't trust the government either. I'm sure not worshiping Wikileaks and Assange makes one a heretic around here, but I also don't give a crap what anyone thinks either.

Wow. I was just telling a friend of mine a few weeks back it wouldn't be long before they came up with some kind of charges involving porn, or something. They really are quite predictable at times. I don't believe he raped these women. Where are the women? Would like to have more information before I believe this.

The mainstream media is just quoting the tabloid, and citing it as a reference. That's so retarded. Since when does the mainstream media use a tabloid as a reference.

news.yahoo.com...

It's finally made the AP wire.

STOCKHOLM – WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange is suspected of rape in Sweden, where authorities have issued a warrant for his arrest, officials said Saturday.

The 39-year-old Australian denied the allegations on WikiLeaks' Twitter page, saying they "are without basis and their issue at this moment is deeply disturbing."

Assange, who has sought Swedish legal protection for the whistle-blower website, is suspected of molestation and rape in two separate cases, said Karin Rosander, a spokeswoman for the Swedish Prosecution Authority.

"He should get in contact with police so that he can be confronted with the suspicions," Rosander told The Associated Press.

My swedish sucks but the finnish papers are saying, that Assange has emailed Dagens Nyheter and denied all allegations. He also says, that the swedish police has not contacted him.

Dagens Nyheter claims, that assange left sweden on last wednesday..
