Ex-FBI agent accused of illegal hiring at Rockwall deli

Ann Cox was fired by the FBI after the U.S. attorney's office filed a misdemeanor charge on July 28 accusing her of employing six illegal immigrants during periods from 1997 to 2008.

A former Dallas FBI agent is expected to plead guilty next week to federal charges that for 11 years she used illegal immigrants to staff a Schlotzsky's restaurant she owns in Rockwall.

"While operating the deli, Cox engaged in a pattern and practice of hiring and employing aliens in the United States while knowing that they were unauthorized for such employment," court documents said.

FBI Spokesman Mark White says Cox was still employed with the bureau when they learned of the allegations. Cox's husband is also an FBI agent but is not involved in the case, authorities say.

The charge is a misdemeanor, and carries a maximum penalty of six months in prison and an $18,000 fine. With the plea agreement Cox would face five years of probation instead.

wow, 6 months probation !!!
That's quite an incentive NOT
to hire illegals.

Talking about a slap on the wrist !!!!

This would be enough to make an agent
lose their pension and their marriage and
move to Atlanta to start a new life
wouldn't it???

hmmmmm

Now if a business had done this and not an
agent I seriously doubt they would have
gotten off this easy.

she has been doing this for 11 years, and can only get fined $18 Gs(maximum)? Not to mention she WONT get fined, and is on probation. WTF?

Is this the bar that we are setting? If so, employers will more than likely keep on the same practices as before.

yea, a prime example of a criminal element
within law enforcement.

But I can almost guarantee that Ann Cox
is not alone when it comes to that inside
criminal element.

Just makes you wonder if there are any good people left in the government community(eventhough she is ex fbi).

I just cant get over the extreme lack of penalies on all of this.

i don't get it

i know of a hundred discrepency's in hiring and no one will do anything about it....back in 88, i called in on a federal job, it was a school....mcnair in denton texas ( named after the astronaut)....where they hired about ten illegals from central america...they couldn't speak with the latino's either....and immigration told me the officers had just yesterday all gone down to south texas, they wouldn't act on it!...i was a veteran and i was sent down the road kicking cans
..
right now in the plano texas school district...Gus has a contract to do school district work in the schools and he has illegals and the whole crew of 40 people know it plus all their family and friends..

just appalling to hire an illegal
over a veteran. Just disgusting.
But looking at it from their
perspective, they can hire people
to work for less than minimum wage,
with no benefits and will NOT report
any workplace violations. So it is in
their best interest and bottom line
to hire these illegals. And if they're caught,
they got probation if they plead guilty.
What a [snip]ed up system.
Welcome to the NWO !!!!

But, if you defend the border like Ramos and Campion...
You got jail

ps I know they have been pardoned
and yay! to that
but that only happened
because the publicity on the net wouldn't go away.

There is something seriously wrong on the bridge capt.
Maybe if there was a stayhome stike
by every non essential legal American,
and then every one who was still moving on that day
got sent back to start...
with a chip
