Threatening call stops Calif. flight from takeoff

WASHINGTON — Federal officials said Thursday a jetliner was being held on the tarmac at San Francisco's airport because of an alleged phone threat.

Officials stopped American Airlines Flight 24, bound for New York's John F. Kennedy Airport, before takeoff, the Transportation Security Administration said.

The TSA said passengers were being taken off the plane on at least five buses to be interviewed and re-screened.

Apparently a threat was made by a phone call. Passengers are starting to get off the plane 6 at a time.

There are more and more incidents with airplanes going on.
I believe the person who made the phone call said that the flight would be hijacked. But will keep an eye on this to see what follows. Good thing nothing happened to the people on that flight.
