With all respect OP What is the intention of this thread. I know I'm not the brightest crayon in the box and had to be let in on the "joke". Are you trying to just make a point or are you trying to argue a point.. I really do FINALLY
get the point. I do have a problem in your analogy though. Still can't put Robert E. Lee leading half a country to war over primarily States rights and yes even slavery, against a bunch of radical Muslim extremists, hijacking a bunch of airliners and slaughtering thousands in the name of there God......Well that is if you actually believe the latter took place like that.

When you say that 19 radicals are responsible for 9/11 I assume you choose to believe the official story. Thats not important however. The declaration "The American infidels will pay for blah blah blah Allah will strike down America, blah blah blah Islam will reign supreme" that followed is in question here. Those radicals used their religious beliefs to justify 9/11 and their attack was a declaration of war between Islam and the U.S.

In college I had to take at least 1 religion class to graduate and I took Western Religions. I happen to know that many Islamic beliefs are peaceful and the radicals follow some of the few hateful ones. As with any radical of any religion.

I agree that they have the right to build a Mosque where ever they want but its just too soon. There are other issues here that need to be addressed.

For example, today Nancy Pelosi as asked to find out where the opposition is receiving their funding. Ok, Why won't the Imam in charge of this project reveal where they are receiving the funding for this.

Building a MegaMosque near ground zero is like building a cathedral inside Disney Land. Legal yes, too soon. Yuppp!!

Grave Yard Zoning
That is a Interesting Idea
Have to try to look that one up!
Could you Imagine the uproar if
Minority's were zoned in different Graveyards then the Rest.
Kinda like a Hitler Statue in a Israel Graveyard!

I like that statue, I think its kinda cool.
Nice pix OP thanks.

IMHO
Big difference between Robert E Lee and the Muslims that "did" 911 is that we have proof Robert E lee directed the troops that fought under his command, while there is no proof that 911 was carried out by OBL or the muslims, and in fact all the proof we do have says it wasn't done by him or them at all.

Also that statue isn't going to start another war between the North and the South, while the whole mosque deal is/was about demonizing the Muslims and aggravating the slow.

Tanks! It took me all of five seconds to see this controversy this way. It pissed me off to see how some will use those 3000 lost lives to justify their hate and bigotry.

It is sad, and amazingly most of the people who are doing this want a religious motivated war to wipe out Islam, so once again, yes, I think all they are really seeing in others, is what they are wanting to do themselves, and assuming the other side wishes to do the same.

I see everyday a flag, sign, license plate, sticker, or something that says "The South Will Rise Again!". I wonder, rise and do what?

Having lived in the deep South at verious periods, one can safely assume this means a return to more genteel and mannered ways, lady's bonnetts, mint julips, and lot's of pecan pie.

That's about all I could get out of them, but there were no waterboards at the time.

Already have my ATS approved fire extinguisher ready

Comercialism is ruining everything, this will end when the South rises again!

The long and the short of it, is we are bred to be highly competitive.

One of the problems with Communism is while it's lofty in it's principles, it's terrible in it's work ethic.

Workers who can't get raises for productivity or overtime, or any other incentive besides employee of the month, have no real motivation to work.

Crops would rot in the fields, in train box cars waiting to be shipped, at distribution points waiting to be distributed.

The by product of our competitive nature is everything becomes a competition to many people. To get the promotion, to get the raise, to get the girl, to get the big house, to get the fancy car, but most of all to prove you are better than the other guy.

When the other guy "ain't from around here" that usually just means hating and killing the other guy when ever and at all possible.

Better known as bellum omnium contra omnes "The war of all against all" the instilled need to dominate is what drives the world.

Whether it's lack of work ethic, to much work ethic, lack of ambition, too much ambition, it usually is just about emotional stimuli that prompt a person to take or not take action.

Those who manage know how to motivate through emotional hot buttons and will and do push them.

All that will stop come the day people learn real self discipline and mastery of their own emotions.

Hopefully it will be one day soon.

Thanks.

That just it. 19 radical Muslims killed those 3000 Americans. NOT all Muslims. Those sandy toed, hummus breath, towel headed, camel jockeys (no offense) should be able to put that mosque where they damn well please, and our constitution says so. (in the fine print).

If a northern state can erect a monument to General Lee at the site of the great battle of Gettysburg, than surely we can tolerate a mosque 2 blocks away from ground zero. After all, the first amendment is all about toleration of others religions.

DING DING DING Got it
Totally agree with the point. As stated previously, The constitution grants religious freedom to ALL, not just Christians and Jews, all though most would probably prefer it that way.

So......

If a state or states try to break away from the U.S. they need to be blown up and machine gunned?

Regardless of anyones views of slavery, any state should have the right to break away from a federal government they consider overarching and illegitimate.

Hail to Grant, the drunken saviour of THE STATE.

our fearless leader, who ensured we wouldnt have to deal with those savage natives.
why should a backwards muslim be afforded anymore rights than a savage.

Well no I think what 12 is saying here is that the Confederate States Of America were in fact a separate nation (or at least saw themselves as such) at the time of the US Civil War, so therefore they were in fact an enemy of the United States Of America which they were at war with.

He's making no judgment call here except to point out the idiocy of those opposing the building of the mosque and community center in lower Manhattan.

Personally I think it's a grand thing to point out, well done 12!

Wait wait wait.....when it comes to their ability to leave the union and being considered sovereign, their word means jack#?

But hey, when it comes to considering themselves enemies of the united states well hey, fine then, you are.

Anyways, I completely support this community center with a mosque in it, that is 2 blocks away from ground zero. But this comparison is idiotic at best.

I am glad some "got it" and liked it.

It makes as much sense to fear all Christians as it is to fear all Muslims, or all pit bulls, or all bees, or all drivers etc.
