Nicely done, I'm suprised he'd go back to the same maintenance contractor afterwards, but the landing itself looked picture perfect.

how much damage would that have done to the plane?

new prop required obviously

would there be engine damage from the prop beating off the ground for however many rotations?

Aluminium panels worn through on the bottom? would there be any serious structural damage to the plane?

Its a beautiful classic plane, well worth fixing! he must of had full insurance!

engine prop strike will require a t&i,(tear down and inspection). it could even require a new engine or major rebuild. engine mounting cradle may have taken damage due to sudden torsion loads. the belly pan is probably repairable with little damage. i helped rebuild a mooney several years ago, in which the student pilot forgot to lower the gear when he landed. the damage wasn't as bad as you would think, the hardest part was getting the plane off the runway without doing additional damage when we lifted it, with 2 forklifts and some nylon choker straps we gently picked up the plane and then let down the gear.

well the guy kept his cool that is half the battle .
and I am sure insurance will cover most of the damages.
But the most impressive flying I ever seen on video is 1 the Big jet (that LOST like 25 feet from the cabin back you could see the people sitting in the seats as the plane came in .
and ww 2 pilots man I seen videos of bommers missing half the tail with holes in the wings and all but one engine out .Man they built thous planes tuff back then.
