Maybe they had done some recent work on the landing gear.
That plane was a classic.

I thought about that too. Would that plane be repairable? Is it worth the cost?

Belly, prop, and (most likely engine replacement) as he did wait too long to shut down the engine. All blades on the prop bent.

This is as close as I could find for an estimate on a belly flop repair cost.

yeah i dunno

maybe there is a clutch between the engine and the prop?
