Threat to sell part of US national park

Governor of Wyoming threatens to sell chunk of Grand Teton unless White House boosts state's education budget.

I remember thinking ten or twenty years ago that this would eventually happen and when it did, it would be a sign that the apocalypse had basically arrived. Now I can only marvel not only that the dreaded day has come to pass, but at how little notice people take of things like this. Ho-hum, just another piece of doom-y news... the litany dulls the mind and saps the spirit, but still we slog on.

We can hand hundreds of billions of dollars -trillions even- to big corporations and other countries... Surely our government will step in and spare a fraction of a fraction of that for education and the sanctity of a national park.

Nevermind, that would make too much sense...

I kind of hope it does get sold off, it'll physically demonstrate what the ruling class are up to on scale that even the 'brightest' obama supporters can grasp.
