The Rendlesham Forest UFO - What really Happened?

Over the holiday period I decided to go over my collection of notes, podcasts etc that I have been collecting on the incident and put them to some use into a new thread. click here.

However I was wondering if you have any comments on Adrian Bustinza's experience? He has rarely given interviews but his story is as controversial as Larry Warren's.

Your welcome. Sorry I could not give a defined answer but if I ever get one I am sure the world would know about it first before I could get a chance to post it here. ha ha

Regarding Adrian,

I honestly did not know him well at all. The situation was while I was waiting for my security clearance I was assigned to Law Enforcement so I did not actually interact with the Security Specialists which I was trained to be instead I was stuck with the Law Enforcement (LE PUKES as we called them ha ha bit of a rivalry there) so I was a red headed step child of sorts.

This meant I was not close to the SS (Security Specialists) and was closer to the LE guys instead. You probably know more about Adrian after the incident than I do actually. Like I said I was not there the night (S) of the big incident I was a witness to a separate event a few weeks later so I can not and actually refuse to comment on their incident because I was not there. I will comment about things like when Larry talked to me face to face about things and such but I can't speak for Adrian or anyone else for that matter.

But for the record let me state this. We were trained specialists. We were not a bunch of keystone cops. We all took our job very seriously. We had the right to shoot people on sight if they breached our security so it was not a game for us it was real life and we were not a bunch of fools or incompetent security personnel. We were not mall cop security and I have seen some comments by people suggesting this or that we were drunk or stoned or whatever. That did not happen that I ever saw. Once I do know of a guy that was either hung over or a bit drunk from the night before on post and he was removed from post so fast his head spun. We had exercises every night to keep us on our toes and we never knew when an exercise would take place so, well, you get the picture. I just get offended when people suggest we were less than professional and not trained well. We were trained very well.

I saw Brigadier General Gordon Williams back in 1986 in Telford, Shropshire (Base Commander at Woodbridge at the time of the event). At the time I mentioned has I walked past him the F117A Stealth Fighter which was still classified at the time. I am going to bump this thread and it was a very well put together OP , Best i have seen on ATS . But down to brass tacks . Arent lighthouse beams shielded from the land . Sure you can see there is a light source is there from behind but surely not enough light to fool that many people . And IF it was the lighthouse why no more sightings . Just wondering .

You're right there was a shield, but it didn't block the lighthouse view from all land as UFO Hunters falsely reported in their show on Rendlesham forest, and that's proven here where you can see the lighthouse blinking over Vince Thurkettle's shoulder (follow the link to check out the video):

Vince Thurkettle lived and worked in Rendlesham Forest at the time of the UFO incident and knew how bright the Orford Ness lighthouse could appear between the trees – that’s it, just over his shoulder and above the blue on-screen clock. Click on the picture to see a 1.6 MB QuickTime file of my interview with him, showing multiple flashes.

So as he says in that interview, if there was a UFO flashing light, they should have seen a second one which was the lighthouse. But they didn't report the lighthouse until they got much closer to it which is what the original eyewitness reports say if you read them, in fact here's Cabansag's eyewitness report saying it was the lighthouse, or he called it a "beacon":

"...what we were chasing was only a beacon light off in the distance". That's what an eyewitness said. Why some people don't want to believe him, I don't know.

Others don't even seem to be aware that the eyewitness reports contain such statements.

It seems something went wrong in your post: Instead of the whole witness statement by Cabansag you only got the bottom half.

Let me help you with the reported observations by Cabansag in the top half:

Each one of us could see the lights. Blue, red, white and yellow. The beacon light turned out to be the yellow light. We would see them periodically, but not in a specific pattern. As we approached, the lights would seem to be at the edge of the forest.
We were about 100 meters from the edge of the forest when I saw a quick movement, it looked visible for a moment. It looked like it spun left a quarter of a turn, then it was gone. (…) As we entered the forest, the blue and red lights were not visible anymore. Only the beacon light was still blinking.

Nothing went wrong with my post. The only source of the flashing lights he reports finding was the lighthouse, right? He also noted the farmhouse lights.

So either there was another source of lights they never found, or, the lighthouse light filtering through the forest was playing tricks. and all the colors they were seeing resulted from the lighthouse light. Once they got to a clear vantage point where they could see the lighthouse more directly, there was no longer any opportunity for the light to play tricks while filtering through the forest.

Yes, these are the two possible hypotheses.
All three witness reports support the first one: There was another source of lights and they did find it but it departed the area and was gone.

Just a quick heads up for anyone interested.

The unexplained with Howard Hughes podcast which I would recommend. Has some great guests, anyway the latest edition 284 is a conversation with Col. Halt. It only became available on iTunes today so should be hot off the press stuff although I haven't had chance to listen to it yet myself.

It is true there were a group of us that were new. I have no clue as to how many new vs older SP's were in the forest that night but please note while the forest was UK we did have war games with British troops in there on a few occasions so some of the older SP's would have known at least a bit about the forest...

But I do know that there are a few side effects to this upon studying it and radiation burns to the eyes as some had. Uncontrolled feeling of grief or doom (Some airmen were supposedly seen leaning against trees and crying) and also a very aggressive attitude where there was none before. I would have to say I fell in to that category...

So tell me why did I change so radically so quickly? No really anyone have an answer to offer? Part of the reason I wish to talk about this is to find out the answer to that question. Its been what 33 years now? That's a long time to wonder about such a thing with no more clue now than I did the day after the event.
