"Israel will reject the Quartet's anticipated call for the establishment of a Palestinian state within a year, senior ministers decided yesterday. The members of the Quartet for Mideast peace "

Of course this will not surprise anyone with an understanding of the political mindset of the Israeli government, Israel is always willing to negotiate a Palestinian state. BUT, negotiations ONLY. Never a serious effort towards a Palestinian state. This has worked for Israel during their entire existence.

Unless their is a consequence then no country listens to others and why would they? Does Iran listen about their nuclear reactors? How about north Korea?

A perfect example of the bias that cant be found on ats every day about trying to demonize Israel. If this was the same situation in any country they would act the same unless forced by a military.

Too true. What's really sad, is that many people - Arabs and Jews alike - attribute the failure of the Camp David Accords to Yasser Arafat, when in reality Israel was the true reason it failed. They refused to offer written proposals, instead insisting that oral agreements behind closed doors were sufficient - precisely the sort of agreements that Israel had backtracked on numerous times in the past. It was beyond obvious to everyone "in the know" that Israel never intended to live up to the much-publicized two-state solution.
