The Quaran is not read by moslems but recited - it is recited in arabic - 20% of moslems speak arabic as their first language - It is against the teachings of the quaran to say "but" when speaking of the Quaran, ie - Mohammed said that "but" it can be seen as this.... thus, you are not allowed to question the teachings - therefore, reading and analyzing the Quaran is for non-muslims - reciting the Quaran is for Muslims

na, Muslim states are no more war-like then Israel is, it's true that the US government is far more dangerous then any radical Muslim faction looking to kill and kidnap Americans. Most of these Muslim extremists are acting out of desperation and they are frequently used as a scapegoat by the US government to cover-up their true plots to divert attention from the things they make sure nobody will see. Muslims don't even actively convert people like Christians, but if you aren't a Muslim, don't live in a Islam state, but if you aren't a Jew you probably shouldn't live in Israel either...

I found the last post interesting, that Muslims do not study or interpret scripture, but merely recite it. This seems to make sense since so many traditional Muslim precepts are still law today while so many old Christian precepts that were law so long ago are no longer followed.

I agree with you, as anyone non-muslem is seen as the spawn of satan, per the quaran no less - the constant war is waged against us... we are seen as the ones to be terminated - Islam is very rapidly taking over the world and very stupidly many think that pointing out the evil of this religion is a non-tolerant stance, whereis in fact it states non-tolerance in it's teachings. It's own people are stoned to death, hands are chopped off, proper trials are not administered for the guilty. I do not wish to advocate hatred to any people, but Islam needs to be seen for what it is. It isn't a religion of love, love is not mentioned in the quaran unless it is said to moslems that they need to prove their love for allah through certain acts, but love for man, for children, for wives is not mentioned at all! So if a moslem says their religion is a religion of peace, what is peace without love? Islam advocates that a female is ready for sex as early as a day old. Islam teaches that this: Qur'an (5:51) - "O you who believe! do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends; they are friends of each other; and whoever amongst you takes them for a friend, then surely he is one of them; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people."

It is a strange irony that most Muslims don't know what the Koran says.

For instance, moderate Muslims assume that Muhammad was a man of loving and peace. In fact the Koran and the Hadiths paint a very different picture of a charismatic but deeply violent man who was greatly loved but was also greatly feared.

Moderate Muslims assume the Koran preaches a peaceful message. In fact hateful expressions of non Muslims burning in hell and the like due to being 'disbelievers' fills up a significant proportion of the Koran.

Nor are moderate Muslims terribly aware that the Koran prohibits friendship with non Muslims or the absolute duty of Muslims everywhere to carry out violent jihad against non Muslims to spread the Islamic world.

Muslim extremists appear to be some of the few Muslims who do understand what the Koran commands Muslims to do - wage religious war against non Muslims and bring the whole world under the religious and political power of Islam.

You do not have to fear something, to respect it.

Fear was good in the stone age, kept you alive. Or during the inquisition, fear was useful for the Church, to help keep the minions in line.

Now we just look it up on the Internets, and know better.

Fear, love, are both facets human emotions. Instincts are not thought; they would not be "instincts" if they were. All instincts are good; only through million of years of evolution do we have them, use them for all they are worth and don't ignore them.

Sure, I have claimed many times in this thread that all major religions except Buddhism theach seperation of some sort.

Well I have yet to read every post. I think it is pointless to be against a religion many don't know much about. I'm an Atheist and it is ridiculous for me to bash someone's religion. Yes we can disagree with each other on why we chose to follow our paths in life. But making them seem evil down right evil for person doing it.

Besides the fact that that the message of Jesus Christ, who preached love not war (unlike Muhammad who overwhelmingly preached violent Jihad) appears to have passed you by, the big difference is that Christianity isn't producing suicide bombers aimed at converting the whole world to Islam by violent Jihad.

It is quite a fundamental difference.

I have never used the word "evil" for any religion, I'm just stating facts as I see it. To me all religions are simulacras and thus no more than fairytales.

On another note I am curious that you claim being an atheist when your signature links to "Aish.com - Judaism : the Jewish website", your signature also say "we at Aish.com" which implies that you are somehow connected to it. Are you being dishonest with us?

That's the funny thing. The more you understand Islamic teachings, the more you realise that it is in fact a relgion full of hateful statements against non Muslims, which commands Muslims to fight Jihad.

Such statements and commands are not the occasional verse. The Koran and Hadiths are bursting with them!

Jesus is Jesus. The same with Muhammad is Muhammad. Yes Muhammad with to war while he achieved prophet hood.

Yet, the Koran makes no bones about calling non-Muslims guilty, evil, wicked, evil-livers, liars, wrong doers, who have diseased hearts and are not to be trusted and who secretly hate Muslims.

Its almost as if all of this tolerance was a one way street!

If I need to learn more fairytales then I will rather read the new Harry Potter book; that story is better and more plausible to me
