this is ridiculous, if someone is being a bigot in a professional situation (like at work), they deserve to be punished. Anything else is the 1st amendment.

A lot of people just accept the fact that our freedom of speech is a joke nowadays. It's mainly because that is what they are taught in school. I remember a specific quote from my high school government teacher: "You can say what you want as long as it doesn't offend someone." What a load of crap.

Thanks for acknowledging that all humans ARE NOT "created equal," and that our freedom of THOUGHT is at least as important — if not more so — as the freedom of speech or freedom of anything else.

No, humans are NOT "created equal"... It's more than apparent that most humans don't have terribly high IQs, that they're not capable of grasping the loftier concepts. And, no, education doesn't make a person smarter, it only gives you a database of knowledge upon which to draw.

You're as smart as you're ever going to be at birth — that is, your brain and your faculties for capturing knowledge swiftly are pretty much SET by the time you're born. It's part of your genetic blueprint. No, you don't become smarter as you age. If anything, social engineering and behavior modification only DULLS your faculties.

So, NO, there's no such thing as a socialist Utopia in which everyone is "equal"... It'll never happen, not as long as we're still human beings. We'd have to DEVOLVE into some sort of dull-witted sub-species to become equals.

And, as long as we're humans, we'll always exercise our penchant for recognizing and discriminating against one another for our perceived differences.

Sorry, nobody is ever going to legislate equality into our genetic blueprint. Thank God.

I couldn't disagree more. Of course we are all created equal. We are all born of woman are we not? And don't we all end up as so much dust? One could say that death is the great equalizer. If you would have said some of us are stronger or some of us have more talent I would agree. But that means some of us are only better in a given area which doesn't mean we are better over all.

And peoples intelligence and level of talent changes all the time. As an example: the greatest major league pitchers sometimes have a hard time getting people out. Obviously some days there stuff is working better than on others. People's brains are the same; somedays they work better than others.

Plus, all people are prone to emotional/mental problems as well as stupidity even the smartest and strongest of us. We are all equal. We all bring something unique from ourselves to the game.

Your philosophy is shallow and elitist and your arguement is not well thought out.

You are quoting the Bible but I think you are missing the point. Define evil. I bet under most definitions that God, himself, would be identified as bigoted, hateful, and considered evil - as hundreds of anti-God threads on ATS will attest to. Evil from my perspective is whatever God calls evil and that makes me intolerant by some people's standards.

IMHO evil is the will to do harm to others.

Just for some clarity here from the staff.

You folks have every right to scream as much hate and racism and bigotry and vile that you choose.

OFF OF ATS.

I fully support your right to be a racist, bigoted fool as much as I support someones else right to challenge your opinions with their own.

When you are here, on a privately owned website with clearly defined rules about this stuff, you do not have those rights. This isn't a public street corner nor your own soapbox for your vile hate. Don't like it? Too bad. It is a part of the requirement of membership.

You can scream and rant all you want, as long as it is within the T and C.

And just so you are all clear...

1a) Offensive Content: You will not post links to images or use avatars and signatures that are offensive, abusive, distruptive and/or hateful.

2) Behavior: You will not behave in an abusive, hateful, intolerant, bigoted and/or racist manner, and will not harass, threaten, nor attack anyone.

Don't like them rules? You know where the log out button is. Adios.

Let folks be racist, homophobic, sexist, and just live lives as Bigots. If they want to be scum, let them. Makes me feel like a saint when I'm next to a Republican....I mean, Racist or Homophobe

so you're saying that everyone is entitled to be a racist?
so wait wait,a racist is the same as me(not-racist) just because we both are expressing our opinion? so a racist group as the KKK should be looked with the same eyes as an anti-racism movement group? wow

Im sorry but, no,i don't think anybody is entitled to hate on people(i dont wanna use the word bigot) because of the skin color, family, country etc.

I do think however, that scum, should be hated by everybody. Racists, murderers, corrupt people and others.

You are embracing a very primitive form of the human being.Neglecting our very nature to evolve.to think.to create. So should we go back to be apes? to the middle ages? to slavery? Im sorry but i think that racism and killers and bad polititians should be exterminated form the root.Like a bad weed. And the simple verbal display of corruption, accepting a bribe or stealing money or hating a race is what fuels the action. First you say it,then you do it. these are my thoughts anyways. Star and flag!

Isn't calling people 'fool' slightly hateful and insulting?

Or can mods get away with breaking the rules?

No.

Two questions.

Did I address any one member in particular?

Do you think I may know the rules here better than you?

I have to say there was a time in my life when I was so innocent,

In my home and the way I was raised race was never and issue, the only thing I ever remember was my grandpa had a issue with gypsies, lol

Honestly he was from the old country, and he had an issue with Gypsies and Catholics, but he was a Catholic priest before he left the church and married, weird.

Resentulist, I think that is what I have become a resentulist.

Probably.

All i'm saying is this:

How can you claim that people are foolish, when they themselves are constantly being bombarded with propaganda and destructive media and bad examples and horror stories from across the border? On all the corners of the globe?

Surely it is within our right to have some elements of distrust and surely it is within our rights to vocalise or type out our concerns.

What about the older generations, who have seen far worse things than you or I? Are they fools?

GAOTU789, I think the point is what is "hateful" or "intolerant". To some members having any religion is "intolerant". Perhaps ATS should define it more clearly. The point here is that when the government starts defining what is hateful and what is intolerant eventually we'll all be caught up in it. I am intolerant of murder, rape, European football, and anyone that serves office. Does that make me a bad ATS member?

I think this all started by someone saying that we don't have the right to disagree with him on the issue of politics, religion, and culture because to do so makes us bigots and hateful which I thought was sort of bigoted and intolerant.

On the issue of race I think its stupid - there is no race other than the human race proven by the fact that we can all intermarry and interbreed. The US government would now like us to consider people from China or Mexico to be of a different race - its all designed to destroy us.

Sure is, as long as you stay within the rules set out by the owners. As I mentioned earlier, scream and rant to your hearts content, just do it within the rules in place. Wouldn't be much a discussion board if we couldn't discuss things.

What about the older generations, who have seen far worse things than you or I? Are they fools?

Nope not all. Some are, some aren't. That is irrelevant to this discussion though.
