India's Home Ministry threatened Thursday to block BlackBerry corporate e-mail and messaging services unless the device's manufacturer, Research In Motion Ltd., makes them accessible to its security agencies by Aug. 31.

Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have also threatened to cut off popular BlackBerry services unless they get greater access to user information. Like India, they've cited security concerns in pushing for access to encrypted information

Now it is the turn of the Indian govt to threaten to ban the BB services. And not for any reason, India has to tackle terrorism which is a live threat to the country, especially after the Mumbai attacks.

And India is already the second largest mobile market in the world with over 450 million subscribers. And blackberry has 1 million members in India

I think Blackberry will agree to sharing info with the India govt
