New Zealand were the second worst team in the World Cup ( only better than North Korea ), and it irritates me that such a rubbish team can even compete in a major tournament, when there are far more deserving countries that could have taken New Zealand's place.

Any team that boasts Ryan Nelsen as their 'star' player has no right to be anywhere near the World Cup.

Did you actually watch the games that NZ played ? Do you know anything about football ?

Slovakia ( second weakest European qualifier )... The Slovaks bossed the game, New Zealand stuck 10 men behind the ball, and hoped for a goal on the counter-attack or set piece, and scrape a draw in the dying seconds of the game.

Italy ( the worst Italian side in living memory ), and the only way that New Zealand were able to score, was through a patently offside goal ( Smeltz was a yard off ), Italy scored the equaliser, but despite their territorial dominance, couldn't break through the All Whites, who were once again sticking 10 men behind the ball, and hoping for scraps.

Paraguay ( already qualified for the next round, and never got out of second gear ) totally pwned New Zealand in their final group game, and I have to say that the All Whites performance was cowardly and pathetic.

New Zealand, once again, stuck 10 men behind the ball and hoped for a miracle, and ended up with 0 shots on goal throughout the whole match, despite needing a win to qualify for the next round.

The All Whites display against Paraguay was the most cowardly and pathetic display of any team that I've seen in twenty years of watching the World Cup.

Your suggestion that NZ were the ''most respected team in football'' is laughable.
Football fans throughout the world won't even remember that New Zealand participated in the WC, let alone have any kind of ''respect'' for their cowardly, anti-football exploits.

If you think that the All Whites will ''improve'' upon their shameful performance, in future years, then you've got another think coming ! And some realisation to attend to.

I don't think that NZ will even scrape in to the World Cup in 2014, because the Asian sides are getting stronger. No more easy ride against Bahrain !
