Please remember not to vote.
Instead of voting set something on fire in Washington. I vote to burn Washington to the ground. Good thread.
Why do the french have the only government in the world that fears it's people?

:/ That is a pretty narrow minded conclusion based on the meetings of two idiots both of which are probably high school drop outs.
Comparing the average citizen to Nazi Germany is really unfair.

BTW, the USA had a civil war in case you forgot about it.

Really, there is too much evil in this existence of ours that the US citizens never get the whiff of.
If US citizens never get a 'whiff' of what's truly going on in the world (due to government control, media blackout, or whatever cause), then how can ordinary US citizens be held accountable for what they do not know?

These never ending wars are draining this countries money and
resources. I tell you "what we need". We need to bring our troops home
and stay out of policing the entire earth. We Americans don't own it.
I think that almost everyone on earth can protect and police their own
countries. We don't have to spend trillions of dollars on killing and forcing
our beliefs and democracy and way of life down the throats of everyone
who wants a little different way of living. So what if a country has a
different style of life and government than us? We don't have any right
to tell anyone on earth how to exist. I am so sick of this as an American
that I will probably be upchucking my morning biscuit very soon.
I just want to retire in peace and not have to listen to killing and wars and
hunger and famine and hatred and who's color or religion or language is
different than mine. I believe that this coming November will be the start
of something newer and hopefully better for all of us here in America.
We will soon find out who is lieing to us in great detail. I also believe we
will get a lot of change that we can be thankful for, and that hopefully we
will be put in a different light to the rest of the world.
Peace to all brothers and sisters on earth.

Thanks for the replies. It is true that there are quite a few war-mongers,
racists and hateful people here in the US, but I am talking about the
vast majority of us who aren't. There are really bad people in literally
every country on earth, but I am talking in generalities. Most of us are
fed up with what is going on in this country and I was only trying to
ask the rest of the planet to not be so harsh on the average Joe who
is having to put up with all the crap happening. If it were up to the average
citizen, there wouldn't be wars, hunger, and racism. But in the interim,
we are mostly bashed about from a lot of non-Americans. Not all of
course, but people seem to feel it is the citizens who are in control of
all the bad things going on. We just want to be left alone and have peace
for once.
I would love to be able to come to England and Ireland and lots of other
neat places in Europe and Asia, but most people here in the US are very
afraid to venture overseas because we have all been stereotyped as
bad people. It is not safe at all for Americans to travel much nowadays.
Don't come to the UK, apart from some old buildings it's over-rated and socialised to the hilt.
Take it from a UK denizen.

@ King - I spent some time in the UK, and I really liked the ppl
especially the Irish and the Scots, no offense to the Brits they
were just generally not as lively and I can't blame them.
I have a few big problems with moving to the UK...
1) Job situation worse than it is here.

2) Sharia Law spreading there.

3) It is illegal to defend yourself in your own home.

4) Higher taxes there which is REALLY hard to believe.
5) The cost of living there is about double to triple where I am now.

6) Ppl from the US get a VERY bad welcome from some there.
7) I think I got better odds of survival here if we hit a global
depression which looks likely, engineered or not.

9) Ppl in the UK risk fines and jail to run farm diesel in their cars
to avoid the huge fuel taxes, and I'd likely be one of them.
They have not cracked down on bio-diesel here yet.

a job to get me to leave the US for the 5th time.

I think it's the Governmental policies that are disliked rather than the American people themselves.
People tend to hate the British more because of their violent drunken behaviour abroad. I know this being British myself, however, I am well behaved.

I would like to make a few points in answer to your post.
1) America ( U.S.A.) is made up of people who's ancestors came from every other country in the world. It is a microcosm of the people of Earth.
Yes that's true, but it's also silly when I then hear: "Oh I'm part Italian, so we have a lot in common!"
* Tell that to our 40 million Latinos or 15 million Chinese, 8 million Caribs, etc.
2) Humanity as a whole has been slaughtering each other since we became sentinent, it is in our genetic makeup.
And while this is completely idealistic and wishful, dreamland thinking: I wish we would be grown up enough to realize that it's not helping us, our family, neighbours, county, state, nation or world. Just our egos.
It should not be an excuse.
* We are trying to civilize ourselves. As far as the U.S. goes, While a lot of us are focused on blaming our politicians for all our troubles, it is we as a people who are at fault.
3)The USA is a mirror of humanity, praise it or demean it, your just talking about yourself.
No, because humanity has a vast variety of cultures that value different ideals and philosophies.
I'm not saying any one is better than the other, but the USA is NOT a mirror to the rest of the world. Really... go travel if you don't believe me.
* I disagree, I am well traveled. I have seen the same cultural attitudes, ceremonies, handicrafts, etc. in the U.S. as practiced in a citizens country of origin.
4) We ( humanity ) are caught up in a race for resources. America has been at the forefront of this race for awhile now. Same as the British Empire, The Roman Empire, etc.
And it's only going to get worse and increase tensions. All of those empires you mentioned have collapsed, as will the USA if it does establish itself as such an empire. Power and greed will piss off enough people until s# hits the fan. It's not a solution and we need to learn from history.
* True but my point was that humanity as a whole is always striving. It is not just the U.S. We will lose our first place position soon enough, and another country will take our place. But if we're pushed hard enough we'll make the Nazi's look like a bunch of kindergartners. One nut job in the White House who needs a popular war to fix the economy and the SHTF.
5) The USA is in danger of losing the top spot. We have the biggest gun. Do you really want to piss us off?
It's not a matter of pissing you off, it's about trying to find a better solution to what's happening in the world.
* You missed my point completely but I'm not going to get preachy.
I say this not to anger you. Some Americans will bend over backwards to change this quagmire we find ourselves in. Hence, they will build a Mosque at ground zero, to show the rest of the world we're big enough to say we don't blame Islam just Terrorism. Do you really think Islamic Terrorist' really care? Do any of you really understand the Islamic terrorist have killed 100 times more Muslims than Americans or Britians or French, etc.
There has to be balance, for sure. Building a Mosque at Ground Zero is a terrible idea, simply because you have to respect the families of the victims. It's not like we turned Auschwitz or other death camps into a synagogue.
* Not a terrible idea, there were Muslim and Jewish victims of 9/11. Building a Mosque AND a Synagogue would be a better idea.
