one of the people that I know of getting aide for their housing was a school bus driver.....your kids go to school??? reckon the person driving that bus deserves a roof over their head for hauling 30 or so screaming, crying, hyperactive kids around?
another one was the assistant manager of a respectable steak house.....
punch press operator cutting the gaskets that are going into the military planes??
how about a screen printer with 30 or so years experience??
what about the person cashing out your groceries at your favorite grocery store?
these people aren't sitting on the arses all day!! they are working, that little screen printer and me would move over a ton of magnetic sheets through the printing press in a days time!!

the point I am making dear, is well, reckon it would be cheaper overall, if gee, the employers would just a pay areasonable wage to these people, instead of us having all these gov't employed people (who by the way are making 30%-40% more than their counterparts in the private sector!!!) to give them a hand up....month after month, year after year??? then maybe your argument about how they need to get off their arses and do something would make sense, but as long as there are plenty who are doing something, well, sorry, it doesn't fly!
you are stuck footing the bill for the insanity till two things happen, the cost of living goes down, and the wages of the working poor go up, just as I am!!
personally, I would just assume pay the extra buck for the big mac, the little bit of taxes for the bus driver, teacher's aide, a little extra for the gaskets on the planes, ect....and let the people earn enough money to obtain what they need themselves!!!

As a matter of fact I pulled my oldest OUT of school and home schooled her for a year and when I put her back in she was ahead of the other kids. She also could count, say her ABC's, write her name and all kinds of other things BEFORE she started kindergarten. I got paid nothing for teaching her that and guess what it wasn't that hard. And No, my kids ride to school in my car. Yup I get up and feed them and take them to school, spend a lot of time peeking over those teacher's shoulders and even make sure I have the teachers home phone number. My oldest is 12 my youngest is 8 months. Growing up my mom worked 2 jobs to take care of my sister and I. When I was 8 she joined the army. My dad was a truck driver who lived in the hills here in Arkansas. At his house it was no indoor plumbing, no electricity, no phone, and a wood stove to cook on and heat the house. Neither of them ever asked the government for money or asked anyone for a hand out.
We raise our own chickens, we raise our own pork, I can veggies from my garden. Every other day I bake our bread. I only buy milk, sugar, flour and spices and everything else in bulk. I have a basement that I keep stocked. We occasionally eat out and my children are not screaming crying whatever other things you called other peoples children and if that is how you friend felt perhaps it is better that is no longer his job.
I drove and spent almost every night with my dad when he was sick before he died. 40 miles 1 way. I got up at 3 AM to take him for his dialysis 3 days a week and still managed my home.
My husband gets 4 bonuses a year for his work for the company he works for , the government takes 40% off the bat we never see it.
I'm sorry you know so many people that can't hold a job but someone somewhere always has a yard that needs mowed or so other menial job that should be paid as such. Dear...
Excuses are what people give when the truth is not favorable.

I can't send private messages but would like to apologize for the tone of my recent messages and to say how awful I really do feel for people down on their luck right now. I am sure their are a lot of people swallowing their pride and asking for assistance and I am grateful that they are able to receive it.

Why the sudden change of heart? Although I'm glad to see it.

You made your point, you an yours are self sufficient. But your ignoring the obvious.

Should people have to work 60+ hours a week just to survive?

Should people have to grow their own food + work + homeschool their children?

All the while paying 40%+ of their income to taxes for which they receive no benefit?

Of course not.

Its a ridiculous situation with no winners but the corporations, politicians, and elite. Excessive pride is a sin you know, and it only leads to more division among us worker ants. We need to focus on those robbing us blind with taxes which do nothing but ship money out of circulation.

Ive seen many more people recently taking 2nd and 3rd jobs just to try to keep up with bills and payments. Notice I did not say rent or food, but they are far leveraged and the cost of living keeps rising. These people to me are fools fighting a losing battle. They must have believed those American dream fairytales and held them close to heart. Its sad because there lies, manipulations put there to make you slave your life away and have nothing to show for it and no time to ACTUALLY LIVE. And that pride feeds the sickness like a cancer.

This system is unsustainable! And while foolish people try an prop up this busted bankrupt farce, in the hopes that their kids can inherent the hell, some of us are done.

Some of us realize its time for a new beginning. My suggestion is do what you love NOW, because when this crashes in a few short months/years you may never get the opportunity again. Stop worrying about finances. Are you doing what you were put here to do or are you a slave just trying to survive? Any money their handing out ill take it cause pride doesn't pay a dime.

I live in Georgia and I've seen extensive coverage and there WERE white faces in that crowd.

I read to get those vouchers, these people have to be making 15k a year OR LESS.

The situation in Georgia is BAD. I've got some really hard working friends - in their 40's worked ALL their lives, and they've been out of work for 2 years or more. One hurried into a job trying to sell cars and ended up forfeiting his unemployment because of it. (The car place didn't do well, he ended up paying them to let him to work for 3 months!)

My own husband and his coworkers cringe everytime there's a meeting - his company is from 500 workers a few years back to about 40 of them now. Those 40 have taken about 40-50% cuts in pay. (We found ourselves thinking we were lucky to only be in the 40% bracket. UG)

In Georgia too, they just let the homestead exemption go up, so everyone is looking at mortgages that have went up (because of taxes) 70.00 or MUCH more a month. One friend's went up 500.00 a month. They WERE ok, now....they are scared too.

Georgia is one of the harder hit states I think. However, the Atlanta area, I am told is not as bad as other areas.

You Know I have been sitting here waiting for a piece of that sweet, sweet Obama stash, and yet none has come my way. here I am working like a sucker... Maybe it is because I didn't vote for the clown. If I knew what a wonderful Job he would be doing now, I would have voted different.

Dear Government It's me, I need a new TV?

you forgot that they also go after the previous owner for the money and when that fails they get the default value from the government bailout, so they win any way it goes, seems like a scam to me but what the hell do I know.

be glad you had the means to ride your kids to school every day....
I had to walk a mile to school through 3ft snow drifts when I was going to had no car. and well, the screaming, crying, hyperactive kids on the bus was my observation while picking my kids up from the bus stop, not my friends feelings. I didn't have the luxury of driving them to husband had to have the only car to drive the 40 miles to work everyday...or most days, some days he would get halfway and find a wall of snow where the plows had stopped at the county line and turned around.

tell me....
how are these single moms gonna be working two or three jobs gonna be able to ride their kids to school, take care of their sick father, bake the bread every other day, teach the little ones all they need to know (when obviously they haven't learned some important lessons of life themselves since well, most of them never learned that it's better to be married before having kids!!) and on and on......
you, being a stay at home mom, should know.....those kids are more than a full time job in itself! Add in a full time job, and well, you lucky if you can find 6 hours to sleep in few days a week! I've been there, I know!

My husband is a journeyman machinist....more than 30 years experience in that trade. by the time some one reaches the age of 30, it is reasonable to assume that he had a few dependents depending on him. a journeyman anything means the best of the best!! guess what....our kids grew up most of the time without healthcare, while their friends (ya know, those in single parent households) were eating good everynight ($400 in food stamps every month!!), we were finding maybe $50 for food every week after the bills. those kids, if they had applied themselves, well, they are probably in college, paid for compliments of the taxpayer....

my'd have to put themselves hopeless into debt to go!! and well, it just isn't worth it.
a person with 30 years experience in a trade couldn't earn the standard of living that his taxmoney was being used to provide for others!!!
I'm a screen printer, with 8 years of experience in that field...and according to the way the wages are set up in this country, I don't deserve to life! didn't deserve to live running that punchpress either, although if I had screwed up on them, well, on of those nice navy planes would could have landed on someone's house!
and yet, the little twerps right out of college and into wall street manage to crash the entire economic system......
and they deserve hundred thousand dollar bonuses for the job well done!!!

before they crashed the system, I am telling you many of the people who were using these programs were working full time! and there would have been alot less gov't workers working to hand out those few extra bucks in food stamps, ect....if their employers would have just paid a decent wage! those employees would have been taxpayers instead of tax drainers.....
social security would have had more money going into it...
the cost of living wouldn't be so hyperinflated by stupid politicians that decide that the taxpayers should be paying $1000 for a rat infested apartment...thus setting the basic rate of all rat infesnted apartments at $1000!

we'd be in alot better shape I think!!!

but na....the wall street gamblers, the upper level managers, who had more than they needed......

but well, whatever.....
in their drive for bigger profits that would lead to bigger bonuses and salaried for them, well, the quality of the products were reduced to the point that all they can buy with all that money now if basically crap! those half a million homes will fall apart long before my little close to hundred year old house will....
so, whatever....
so glad you are making out so well though....for now....

I don't think it's fair to blame Obama when he took office in the middle of a nasty economic downturn.

But, whatever. Some Americans have short attention spans and high demands and when they're not met, you hear stuff like "Obamanomics" and crap like the tea party and birthers.

It's the COMBINED effect of Bush's policies and Obama's inability to rectify the situation that has gotten us here.

Also, housing assistance is a waste of time when they require yearly inspections and can fail you for even the smallest detail. It took me a while but I no longer receive it and do not miss it.

The Sword, Listen, I Blame Obama Voters, They were told over and over again, but would not listen, I Blame Democrats in Washington, I mean, Who's been running Sh$t for 6 years before Obama came in?
I Do Really Blame Obama TOO!
He made Promises after Promises after Promises of Lowering if not freezing unemployment, saving mortgages, saving jobs and pulling the troops out of Iraq.

He could have given that Bank Bail Out Monies to the People with Mortgages to pay off their loans and their car loans and any and all loans.
Each and Every American could have been out of debt and have monies left over to put back into our economy , That would have saved the banks and the auto industry.
But he didn't trust us, No he trust his big banking buddies.

Why try and give amnesty with voting rights to illegals? I'll tell you what i think, It to create another group of people dependent on the Government for hands out, Much like you seen in the Thread here, except, the majority will not be Black this time around, it well be Brown.

Do You Get It Now?
Continue to Vote Democrat and Believe in your Obama and you'll have a Slave Population of all races to the Government and I won't live like that.

Honestly, you sound like you're parroting talking points from Rush and Glenn. Try coming up with an original reason to despise Democrats. I'm just not buying a word. Slave population? Huh?

If you think that electing another Republican is going to "fix" all of this, then I've got a bridge in Brooklyn to sell to you.

Oil and drugs are very, very profitable for anyone involved in selling and making both!

All of these programs are foul. They all need an overhaul, in fact if employers paid the right wages, they wouldn't be needed and if so much damn taxes didn't go into them and the WAR, then it could go back to employers to pay decent wages, who would then be happy to pay living wages to those who work, those who don't want to work, let them find their own way or die, IDGAF!!!! The moochers are not good for anyone!!!! This is evident. Of those 30,000 people lined up I guarantee that only about 1 percent of those have worked ever and/or are currently working. I can just tell, I mean you don't get fat going to work everyday, no you get fat sitting on your A&& collecting subsidies!!!! Also there would be more jobs for us if the money were not going to these Filthy subsidies, the money could be invested in business start-ups!!! Flame me if you want but it is the truth!!!!

When did I say anything about how the Republicans can save us?
When and How do I parrot Rush or Beck? I guess they talk and think like me, My retirement job has me working day time, no radios at work.

I don't like Obama, I guess you understand that, i didn't like Bush either.

But to tell me after the very long life I've had and what I see and what I know, It's not Obama and his bunch of FOOLS Fault, You need to open your eyes and stop believing in a Complete A$$, Hell, He's a Socialist and my wife who was a Card Carring Communist listened to him and his wife talk on t.v.
She'll look you in the eye and tell you, Obama is a Socialist.

You need to stop burning your Obama Candles at The Shrine To your Dear Leader and open your eyes.
I know your young and you think Liberalism will save the world.
Never happen, You're going to keep having those Riots for Rent Vouchers and Food and Housing and transportation, as long as you have a self serving POTUS in office and you do right now.
Hell, I'd vote for Porky Pig before I voted for him.

First of all, my age has nothing to do with this post. Don't try talking down to me because you think that I'm younger.

Second of all, I'm trying to point out just how misguided your anger is. You seem to believe that Obama has caused all of the problems that our government currently faces. He didn't. It's the cumulative effect of voting for two parties that are in reality, one and the same. Every 4 years, someone comes along and promises to fix or change something and usually, they end up making things worse.

I do not plan on voting ever again if I can help it. There are no parties in this country that could fix the damage to our infrastructure. The system must collapse in order for it to re-emerge from chaos.

Don't get me started on the socialist argument. REAL socialists agree that Obama is nothing of the sort. He is a Corporatist, much like his predecessors (Bush II, Clinton, Bush, Reagan). To continue to play the socialist card is to show us just how ignorant you are. I don't care what your wife says either.

I'm done arguing with people like you. I know you will probably end up voting for the first person that promises to fix Obama's "damage" and you will get duped once again. Awakened, you are not.
