I get the feeling from reading a lot of posts on ATS that a number of people here would vote for Hitler tomorrow with pride if given the opportunity. There's a whole lot of Jew-hating just under the surface here.

Not anti-semitism or "anti-zionism". but straight up old-fashioned Jew hating. It's really quite sickening.

Nazism was actually a name for National Socialism, well regraded as a 'left' political party rather than a right then as it is now also.

That's a revisionist view.

National Socialism took ideas from both the right and the left, but in practice it was a far-right ideology. And it was a cousin of Fascism.

Tenets of Fascism:
Nationalism · Authoritarianism · Single party state · Dictatorship · Social Darwinism · Social interventionism · Indoctrination · Propaganda · Anti-intellectualism · Eugenics · Heroism · Militarism · Economic interventionism · Anti-communism

The bolded ones are tried and true articles of the right-wing, even in America.

Considering Germany was an emotionally torn nation during a severe depression, it's no wonder why he got voted in. They needed a hero, a man in charge, a leader.

I know some will compare this to Hitler....but the rest of us know they're illogical and delusional schmucks.

And he said what the German people wanted to hear. He actually promised them "change" over the failed policies of the previous German governments.

Sound eerily familiar? It should.

That's why I think many of the people that voted for obama would have voted for hitler - and for the very same reasons they voted for obama.

Interesting thread ...

So you dont agree with socialism? do you prefer capatalism? consumerism, communism? which one do you prefer? Just asking, not being rude or nothing

Capatalism, consumerism and communism are by far better for everyone than national-socialism. No matter how bad each of these regimes can get, at least none segregate people based on where or which family they're from.

Would you vote for a Nazi party if you are one of the "homo inferiors", darktower? And what if you turn out to be a bit too liberal, libertarian or communistic for their liking? Ever see one of your friends getting their throats cut in a public place just because they look like leftists, immigrants or homosexuals? Well, that's where your vote goes to!

Yeah there is, sadly, and that kind of thread gives fuel to it. Even if thedarktower might not be a Nazi sympathizer, he's still naively supporting that kind of antisemitic discourse here.

Legal war means as defined by the US Constitution as a Declared War.

Germany and Japan both Declared War on the United States.

Iraq and Afghanistan did not declare war on the United States and neither did we ever declare War upon them.

This is what I was alluding to in my response that we have too many similarities in our hatred for a select group of people here in the US that resembles that of the hatred of not only Jews, but the hatred for all foreigners in Nazi Germany.

In fact, even in Germany today, you'll still see the 'Auslaender Raus!' graffiti written on the walls.

Which means in essence, 'Foreigners Get Out !'

I see a repeat of those days in Germany of what appears in the destiny of the US .

It is so similar as to the catalyst of a dismal economy as to what brought Hitler to power.

The sheep will all run to the other side of the political pasture and Obama will be voted out.

In his place we will elect another Neocon, winning on a conservative platform of ridding the US of those problem "Illegals" as well as providing Jobs for all of us and in essence a New American Hitler.

Jobs making war materials for WWIII. IMA.

This is all obviously planned by the way. Obama is fulfilling his role as the new Jimmy Carter. Only making way for a new Conservative American Hero,

Mark my words.

im not supporting antisemitism at all, why on earth did i put the first line up on the thread? theres another thread on here saying the holocaust never happend, now thats antisemitism. I am not, as i have never met a jewish person in my life, why would i? i dont judge on sterotypes, so unless ever jewish person personally hurt me, i couldnt say i didnt like jews, now could i?

btw the title of the thread is would you have voted for hitler, not do you hate jews

This is an interesting question as long as it isn't one of those lame "Bush is Hitler" or "Obama is Hitler" things. Both sides of that argument make people sound like the very Nazis they're pretending to argue against. If Hitler were alive today, he'd be comparing his competition to Hitler and you little lapdogs would eat it up if your favorite radio talk show host backed him up. Suckers...we get what we vote for and so much more, don't we? You just keep doing what your TVs and radios tell you to do.

The interesting part of the question isn't how modern leaders are similiar to old ones. It's how similiar we all are to Nazi Germany and I don't mean just America. So go ahead and vote. Vote to your little heart's content. Or don't. Be cool like your favorite rock star. It doesn't matter because the power never changes. We just get a new dipstick who kisses the babies and loves Amurrikuh.

Sadly, the children are being used to promote obama just like they were for hitler, but the kids can't tell the difference.

Had I been a German living in Germany at the time

and given the problems being experienced by millions of

Germans at the time

OF COURSE I WOULD have voted for Hitler

Or has everyone forgotten International Jewry delcared war on Germany FIRST ?

You've forgotten ?

You didn't KNOW Jews declared war on Germany ?

Gee, instead of the pontificating self-righteousness

WHY don't you go and take a look at the REAL history ?

Jews did boycott Germany, but that was only after he was appointed chancellor and Jews began to be persecuted. In addition, as I pointed out earlier, Hitler stated that Jews were not German citizens in Mein Kampf.

When you have nothing and somebody comes along and offers something... the answers pretty obvious you will vote for those that give you something.

As to those saying this is plain old Jew hating... get a grip the WORLD does not revolve around the Jews. Never has and thank God never will.

I remember when I was in High School the teacher put forth a scenario where the US had been defeated in a war or wars. We owed trillions of dollars. I could say $15 trillion but that number seems low by today's standard. Imagine a lot more. There were other conditions which I have forgotten. Anyway she did not put names besides all of the candidates running for President of the US. She described their positions. I remember one candidate was talking about nationalizing this or that, reducing the amount we were going to pay back to foreign countries or something along those lines. He would take more control back in exchange for helping to get our country back on its feet. The class voted. Then the teacher told us who won. She said we voted for Hitler.

She did not tell us the scenario was similar to Germany or why we were doing that exercise. She did tell us to never vote for someone making big promises who is going to take away any of our freedoms.

I remembered this lesson when someone recently made big promises about Health Care among other things while he was running for office.

I voted for Obama.

Biggest mistake I have ever made

If you had voted for Ron Paul then Bush might have won. This would have been worse for our country. Be glad that at least our president appears to have an adult intelect. Bush was so embarrasing.

I can say with 100% sincerity that if that was today...no way, no how. I can't, however, say what I would have done then. I've never lived like that, in that environment, so I can't honestly say I wouldn't have voted for him then. A bad answer, I know, but an honest one.

You ALL would have voted for him. How do I know?

A couple of years ago, a guy took a picture of hitler, and photoshopped out the moustache and the goofy haircut, then posted it on hotornot, to see if it would garner better ratings than his own picture. Sadly, Hitler outranked him by a LOT and immediately. After a while, he then posted the fact that this was a picture of Hitler. He STILL rated nearly a TEN, even once everyone knew it was a picture of HITLER!

So pretty much everyone, or at least all the females, voted for him. Whattaya think about that?
