Oh, by the way.....I have to commend Canadians for keeping their borders sealed shut. Don't let your borders become pourous.

Canadian borders a very porous, we just don't seem to be bothered as much by illegal immigrants
.

"Illegal immigration in Canada
There is no credible information available on illegal immigration in Canada. Estimates of illegal immigrants range between 35,000 and 120,000.[14] James Bissett, a former head of the Canadian Immigration Service, has suggested that the lack of any credible refugee screening process, combined with a high likelihood of ignoring any deportation orders, has resulted in tens of thousands of outstanding warrants for the arrest of rejected refugee claimants, with little attempt at enforcement.[15] Unlike in the U.S., refugee claimants in Canada do not have to attempt re-entry to learn the status of their claim. A 2008 report by the Auditor General Sheila Fraser stated that Canada has lost track of as many as 41,000 illegal immigrants.[16][17] This number is predicted to increase drastically with the expiration of temporary employer work permits issued in 2007 and 2008, which were not renewed in many cases because of the shortage of work due to the recession"

I know wiki, not a great source, but I'm to lazy to go to government sites right now.

You should really stop while you are behind.

I'm sitting here, getting offended at the Texan bashing done by another member, but I can't really blame them. You are just making it way to easy.

So in the interest of saving what little face you left for our state, stop trolling.

Yes, I hear the Royal Canadian Mounted Poilce are very efficient at rounding up illegals in Canada, herding them out of the country.

Likewise, I think you're insane for wanting government to take care of you and run your life.

Government has done such a fantastic job of it so far, they've run medicare into the ground, bankrupted socialist security, and have totally destroyed the home mortgage market.

Gotta love that government.

Not to mention they've managed to debase the currency by 90% in 40 years.

That is a stellar track record of destruction they've got going on. I can see why you would want them in charge of your life.

Last I heard, the legalizing marijuana thing failed to get the vote in California.

Whatever happened to the gay marriage thing in California? Is that still up for debate?

Is California waiting to see what happens with the Don't Ask, Don't Tell vote before going back to debating the gay marriage controversy?

It failed because many pot smokers, like myself, were against it.. mainly due to MJ already being legal for anyone who wants to toke.

A doctors letter valid for a year is $40.00.. which makes possession and cultivation of MJ LEGAL. There are dozens of local dispensaries with dozens of strains to choose from.. weed is literally everywhere, cheap, and readily available in wicked strong qualities... Federal laws are laughed at as a sour joke, little more than stale irrelevant govt stupidity that moron out of touch party leaders cling to for their masters at big pharma.

On top of that, as of Jan 1 2011, possession of >1oz will be a civil infraction... if the police bother to issue a cite, which they rarely do these days, it's $100 fine that can be paid like a parking ticket... no court appearance necessary.

California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger on Thursday signed into law a bill that reduces the charge for possession of up to an ounce of marijuana from a misdemeanor to a civil infraction.
