Reports of Dish Network- Many channels in other languages?

Anyone have the Dish Network...Some people are saying over at GLP that all channels have become Arabic, Muslim or something like that...WTF is going on???

This is weird. it looks like there is a reasonable amount of people affected by this. Wonder if anyone from ATS can confirm this is happening..

I can confirm. VERY strange. What the hell would cause something like this to happen?

It's probably just a station screw up... or someone went postal...or the Muslims have finally taken over...or it's a CME....

I don't know.

Technical glitch. Could as easily displayed everything in Greek or Italian. No conspiracy here, I guarantee it.

The feed just got mixed up. It's happened before with Spanish. My grandpa freaked out not too long ago during that last huge solar flare because his baseball was in Spanish.

anybody confirming this, can you please state the country you're from so we can determine the spread of this incident? Offcourse it can be anything from very benign to just a bit naughty but still... interesting stuff..

meh.. just checked about 20 channels, all english. Hoax.

Many users are saying they are getting French, Japanese and Spanish programs as well. I wounder what happened at the station. BTW wait for the paranoid Conservatives to bash Dish network for airing numerous channels in Arabic.

Confirmed. I was watching a good movie, and the damn shlt switched to some Arabic soap opera. It looks like its effected some other stations as well.

Its definitely not a hoax. My own Dish Network feed has been all screwed up this morning. They've been slowly restoring them, but earlier in the morning, I'd guess that about 90% of them were either in Arabic or Japanese.

Maybe Obama is finally 'coming out'about who he is??? Lol!

Or maybe solar flares messing things up - I'm have no technical knowledge of this kind of thing so don't know if it's possible.

I have it on right now and a scan of the channels shows nothing but my normal programming. Could be a regional thing I guess.
