Finally..

Border Agents Revolt Against ICE Director

In an unprecedented move within the Department of Homeland Security, the detention and removal officers and agents responsible for and sworn to enforcing our nation’s immigration laws issued an exhaustive, scathing letter simply titled “VOTE OF NO CONFIDENCE IN ICE DIRECTOR JOHN MORTON AND ODPP ASSISTANT DIRECTOR PHYLLIS COVEN” on June 11, 2010. The letter, acquired through sources, provides a litany of examples of how ICE’s mission is being skewed towards supporting an unflinching goal of amnesty by refusing to allow agents to do their job; allowing criminal aliens to roam free; depleting resources for key enforcement initiatives that preceded this administration; and misrepresenting facts and programs, demeaning the extent of the criminal alien problem and geared to support amnesty.

The letter, authored by ICE Union President Chris Crane, begins as follows, noting that all ICE union representatives have signed on to a unanimous “Vote of No Confidence” in ICE leadership:

Finally some action...

Well, I don't know if that is real action though. It says "all ICE union representatives have signed on to a unanimous “Vote of No Confidence” in ICE leadership"

So if every single one has signed this, then WTF is the guy still doing there? Real action will happen when Obama and his illegal-kissing lawyers get off their cozy tushes and fire the crap out of this useless idiot.
Of course, like THAT'S gonna happen??? No chance.

And apparently according to the article this guy gets letters like this all the time.

"ICE Detention Reforms have transformed into a detention system aimed at providing resort like living conditions to criminal aliens. Senior ICE leadership excluded ICE officers and field managers (the technical experts on ICE detention) from the development of these reforms, and instead solicited recommendations from special interest groups."

Oh, you mean special interest groups like the ACLU and big business that have every reason to keep their labor costs low and will fight to the death to keep that stream of fresh meat coming freely across the border? Yeah.

AFGE (their union) wrote the letter. See the thread: www.abovetopsecret.com... for more info.

Were it not for their union this letter would've never been written. There is power in numbers and sometimes it works for the benefit of all and not just the union.

It's good to see federal employees in revolt.
Maybe the rest of the country will join in too.

wow

so money

Its about time someone stood up to these hacks.

Of course, I support open borders – but because America is a currently a socialist police state, we can’t afford to have them open right now. Until we get rid of the communist programs destroying our nation, to invite more illegals in is just asking to be pillaged.

On page 2of this report to a house committe, Chris Crane tells how his union didn't learn about the plans for detention reform until they heard it from CNN.
He also goes on to state that the union had not been allowed to participate in the planning or implementation or in providing any input. The union is not happy about the reform.

Has a lot more details but I am unable to copy from this page. There is also a part at the end over concern about private contractors. Union believes this will ultimately lead to job displacement for its union workers.

homeland.house.gov...

This other report is basically the Union making certain demands to ICE about certain issues related to the changes above.

The Union makes a demand that the Agency remain at the Status Quo and not implement Contractors at the Secure Communities IRC’s in Miami, Florida; Laguna Niguel, California; and Chicago, Illinois

Both reports are from December 2009.

I'm sorry this didn't get more attention on ATS. I think it's great that people are standing up against this nonsense.

This is exactly what is needed - votes of no confidence whenever possible will send a strong, clear message from the people.

November?
