Thought that ATSers might enjoy seeing a trailer for a new movie called "I want your money".

Set against the backdrop of today’s headline - 67% of Americans don’t approve of Obama’s economic policies, the film takes a provocative look at our deeply depressed economy using the words and actions of Presidents Reagan and Obama and shows the marked contrast between Reaganomics and Obamanomics. The film contrasts two views of the role that the federal government should play in our daily lives using the words and actions of Ronald Reagan and Barack Obama. Two versions of the American dream now stand in sharp contrast. One views the money you earned as yours and best allocated by you; the other believes that the elite in Washington know how to best allocate your wealth. One champions the traditional American dream, which has played out millions of times through generations of Americans, of improving one's lot in life and even daring to dream and build big. The other holds that there is no end to the "good" the government can do by taking and spending other peoples' money in an ever-burgeoning list of programs. The documentary film I Want Your Money exposes the high cost in lost freedom and in lost opportunity to support a Leviathan-like bureaucratic state.

Talk about a false dichotomy. How would you like to die: Hanging, or electrocution?

Reaganomics was the wholesale sell-off of our innovative capacity to Wall Street, and Obamanomics is the wholesale sell-off of everything else, to Wall Street.

I must be taking crazy pills.

They both represent retarded economic policy; both funnel the real wealth (the innovative and manufacturing capacity of a people) from the bottom 99% to the top 1%.

Arguing that one is better than the other, or worse -- that these two idiotic plans (wholesale theft versus house-rules gambling) represent the only two options available to us, is the pinnacle of ignorance and propaganda.

Summary of this:

More republican inaccuracies.

More republican LIES.

More republican fear tactics.

The usual never-ending republican propaganda machine spewing nonsense hoping to gain membership into their cult by people who dont research their claims.

Can't watch the video right now but does it have the part where Reagan proves deficits don't matter?

Love the reference... I'm wearing my piano keyboard tie right now. I saw this trailer and knew that the room would divide instantly. Personally, Im not sure who is right. They all suck. Obama just sucks right now. This movie wont play in many theaters anyway, takes away from whatever Michael Bay is putting out.

Nice tie!

I find it funny that we are so easily turned against one another. It seems so obvious to me that the left and right are just two puppets held up by the same corporate interests.

On that note -- star for you! I did like the "Land of Confusion" era puppet art style in the animated scenes!

The introductory cartoon is an insult to Reagan. He didn't "learn in the real world that [taxation] is theft."

He studied Mises and Hayek, intensely. If more of you did the same, then you wouldn't fall for the Romney/Palin/Bush/NeoCon Right-Collectivist BS.

Reagan also intentionally ran massive deficits. This disturbed Hayek (who was told that Reagan was trying to bring the country to the brink of bankruptcy, in order to force government to contract) , and led Rothbard to write a scathing review of the Reagan years.

Slick piece of professionally created neo-con agitprop.

While I love the one-liners, there was not one single prominent Austrian economist in all of those clips speaking.

Every one of those douchebags is a neo-con big spending liberty hating fascist.

They put together this pile of agitrprop to play on the justified outrage of the American public over our criminal government's spending, while promoting themselves as the "fiscally conservative" group.

YOU CAN'T FOOL ME NEWT YOU LYING SACK OF CRAP

FOOL ME ONCE, SHAME ON YOU. FOOL ME TWICE SHAME ON ME.

I KNOW YOU'RE ALL A BUNCH OF FASCIST TURDS!

I just call em communists, that is what they are, in both parties.

They both want absolute control, what is that form of government?

Communist. Period.

It's a VERY RARE time on ATS when I actually agree with the resident anarchist, but (and I can't BELIEVE I am saying this) he is right.

The Right Wing/GOP/Conservatives/TPM are a bunch of Fascists. They don't care about spending, they proved that over the last 10 years with these TWO WARS! Put them into power and people die in war, and that's all that happens, the GOP is all about the big military industrial complex, big pharma, big oil, big business, and NOT AT ALL ABOUT FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY!

I'm going to have to side with WUK on this one, namely the fact that mnemeth1 has this spot on.

I don't know what I'm supposed to do now that I agree with him on something.

They are not communists, seriously dude, dont make yourself look silly by saying such a thing. They are not even socialists. There is no redistribution of wealth, the rich will continue to get richer the poor poorer.

Wow, so by stealing wealth from the poorer is NOT redistribution of wealth.

Thanks, I was wondering how the government stealing money and redistibuting it, was not redistribution.

Tell me how government control of everything is not communism? Oh, possible fascism, but I will go with communism, because THAT is what they are.

edit to add-Here, I know this is wikipedia, but it is a starting point for you to understand EXACTLY what is going on-

Stalinism
