N Korea fires artillery into sea as tensions rise

www.abc.net.au

North Korea fired artillery rounds into the sea off its west coast on Monday, a South Korean military official said, heightening tension on the divided peninsula.

YTN cable news channel reported dozens of rounds were fired into the North's waters near the border with the South soon after a South Korean naval exercise off the west coast officially ended at 5:00pm (local time).

More stress on the Korean peninsula as the North fires into the sea ,at what ?Well that isnt clear yet but this time it's more than just tough talk, perhaps they are shooting at birds or whales or just getting their sights dialled in for a practise, either way it is sure to add more fuel to this slow burning fire.

They fired into the water as a show of strength and nothing more. They've done this in the past. Tensions will always be high on the peninsula but it will not develop any further. China will negotiate the release of the fishing crew and all will be forgotten.

No insider info and if I was an insider I wouldn't be able to tell you. The history of NK shows me that this is all blustering, that Kim Jong Il likes the publicity and it's good for his propaganda machine. China will intervene, the U S will promise food aid and the fishermen will be released. Same old song.

NK is like the neighbours dog that barks the bark of war when you walk past the house but will never jump through the window to attack.
one day this will end but no-one can know how.
