This is a story from the Times of India. As you may or may not know, WikiLeaks disclosed documents in the past two weeks that showed us that there is a very good possibility that funding the U.S. provided to Pakistan (in the billions) that might very well be winding up being spent by the Pakistani ISI to target American and NATO troops and allied Indian personnel and to undermine U.Ss policy in Afghanistan. (See related thread and related news link...www.abovetopsecret.com... and lmgtfy.com... )

Duplicity indeed.

This also comes just 10 days after Congress approved $33B more in funding for Afghanistan, after a lengthy debate over whether to leave American troops in Pakistan. (See related thread....www.abovetopsecret.com... )

And just days after Robert Gates' and Nancy Pelosi's contradictory comments about troop withdrawals from Afghanistan. (See related news link...www.foxnews.com... )

Interesting too that this coming on the heels of India and Iran meeting to discuss a regional solution in Afghanistan. These talks by some reports did not go well. (See related thread...www.abovetopsecret.com... )

What I found most interesting in this article were the observations about Pakistan's strategy in Afghanistan from the Indian perspective.

This spells bad news for Pakistan's army. Its conduct in the war has been rooted in the belief that all it has to
do until the Americans pack up and leave is to run with the Taliban hare even while claiming to hunt with the American hound.
The double-dealing won't work anymore.

I'll say this needs some focus!
