I have noticed that Mods are ignoring ATS rules. I have sent "alerts" to ATS about new members useing the indroduction forum to start threads.

One such member had a post count of "1"

The Mods answer was to move the thread to another forum!!!

How is this right???

Have the RULES been changed???

Another reason was it was early morning in the good ole USA.
I thought this was an international site and hence we need Mods from ALL time zones..

Here is the thread I note, please explain this Mods, from a "1" post member!!!!

The mods are all volunteers.

What most of them are doing right now is working, traveling, eating, sleeping, paying bills, taking care of the kids and so forth.

They do the best they can with limited time.

You're gonna give yourself an aneurysm.

The thread you linked to is in the Predictions and Prophecies forum.

So what's the problem?

Also, you'll note in your complaint U2U that it says (if I remember correctly) to allow 24-48 hours for an issue to be resolved.

Impatient fellow, you are.

Well, this one just woke up and is still kick starting her brain.

I see the thread in question was posted shortly after Midnight, CST.

While it's true the ATS Moderation team are located in several time zones across the globe, it's a large forum and sometimes an alert will get missed depending on how many are on active duty and how many other threads are being generated by the membership.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention, as I (personally) usually browse New Posts before checking Alerts.

I'll get right on it.

I agree they give their time for nothing but surely they, above all mambers, know the rules...

I sent an alert to this thread, started by a one day member with one post.

The Mod moved the thread to another forum.....

Why wasn't the thread closed as per ATS rules???

The Mod took the time to move it but NOT close it ???

Wierd...

You can U2U them and ask why they moved it instead of deleting. There may have been a reason.

I've found the mods to be fair when I've dealt with them.

Nah, brave sir knight, I say we use this thread as leverage to being down the obviously corrupt inner workings of ATS, behead the behemoth and display it high for all to see so that no people will volunteer their services lest they have 100% cognitive ability to adhere to the rules.

Especially since this is a first post member. We must let them know that if they don't read the rules then they are not wanted here - mistake or not.

We are a well oiled machine that only uses absolute logic and reason to arrive at our conclusions and cannot have any type of oversight lest it begets corruption.

Now back to that robot-zombie-Nazi thread...it's just getting good.

Hey instead of getting all upset and blaming mods why not relax. The member just signed up, the person more than likely doesn't know the rules, give them a break. You could have told the member yourself in a nice way that they have to have 20 posts before posting in another forum. Mods are people too you know who have lives besides ATS and there are mods from all over the world on ATS so relax.

Is it that big of a deal that it was moved and not deleted? No it's not really...there are worse rules being broken on here by members that get ignored, this imo isn't that big of a deal.

No problems mat, laugh all you want...

What you say to that mate?

Next time the mods are distracted or absent, rather than posting about it send out a viral U2U and then we can all have an unrestricted food fight.

FOOD FIGHT!

Reading this just gave me the irritated creeps.
It's like listening to a tattle tale stomping their feet and asking mommy why she's not handing out punishment while calling mommy names and telling her she's not being a good mommy.
Try u2u-ing a mod in the future to spare the wasted recent post space.
Drama! really?

Have the RULES been changed???

The rules have not changed, per se, but they have been adjusted to make room for valid discussions.

In other words, previously we moderated the Introductions forum in black and white. If a member did not have 20 posts and the thread posted in the Intro forum was not an actual introduction, the thread would be closed or trashed. Even if it was a valid or interesting topic.

The main reason we implemented the '20 post rule' to begin with was to lessen the chance of useless one-line, trolling, or spam threads from being submitted. So why trash a valid discussion?

So we decided to moderate the forum with a little more 'mercy' by moving valid threads to their proper forum and continuing to trash or close threads that were not ATS material.

And will you gentlemen play nice with each other? Goodness gracious.
