So the Sun is almost fully awake now, its been awhile since we have had four active regions at the same time.

Geomagnetic Activity returns to normal - After a fairly decent Geomagnetic Storm on Tuesday, things have returned to quiet levels. A secondary CME impact was possible on Thursday, however it now looks like it may have missed earth and had little impact on Earths geomagnetic field.

Solar Update - New Sunspot 1094 was numbered on Thursday and is located to the northwest of Sunspot 1092. This new region joins 1092 and Sunspot 1093 on the visible solar disk and each are located in the Suns northern hemisphere. There is a chance for C-Class flares.

Another region was numbered Sunspot 1095 and is located in the southern hemisphere. This marks the first time in Cycle 24 that four Sunspot regions are visible at the same time.

Doesnt the sun have 11 year cycles where its activity goes from low to high? And the next peak is in 2012? So it seems logical that there would be more activity now and a couple of years ahead from that perspective.

Yes you are correct. The prediction is set for sometime in 2013 for the peak, but I feel this is off and that the peak may occur sooner than that.
