A handful of Virginia lawmakers may be positioning their state to be the next battleground in the immigration debate.

Virginia, one of nearly 20 states toying with the idea of an Arizona-style immigration law, hurtled onto the national radar screen this week after Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli ruled that police can ask people about their immigration status during routine stops.

Virginia taking a second stand for the day! They appear to be avoiding Arizona's legal issues by carefully wording their proposed immigration laws. Instead of requiring officers to ask for ID, they are saying officers may ask for ID.

I hope they dot all the i's and cross all the t's so that the wording itself doesn't become the focus as it did in Arizona. Again, good luck Virginia.

Wow, I am so very proud of my State.

No Real ID
No mandated health care
No turning their heads to illegals

Among others

And we still have our 2nd Amendment rights.
