I am not a 'narrow minded bigot' - in fact use of that term would re-inforce in others minds a complete UNTRUTH....

On a site such as this I thought we were encouraged to place information which highlighted wrongs and ignorance....... people will obviously argue that my initial title is ignorant - (perhaps they are right and I should change it ?)
I feel wronged that in my society, where I live and contribute that this can happen..

I am NOT on a 'hate' bandwagon or trying to start anything, merely putting across a view that I thought it was interesting that NO mention at all of the ethnicity of these criminals has been made in the media........ I guess the reaction on here tells me why !!!

It seems that society is TOO scared to say anything controversial now...... maybe as a society we are completely impotent...

I'm surprised the men went for a girl that old. Usually, it even younger. Mohamed had a seven year old wife while he was in his 40's.

NOW, where do you imagine Muslim men get ideas about pedophilia and sexual deviant crimes?

The whole religion is based on a sex pervert's vision, but you can't say that because it would make Muslims feel bad....

I know many Muslims and I don't know even one that wouldn't be totally repulsed by what you seem to think is normal behavior for Muslims. I think you need to get real, these aren't cartoon characters they are real people.

If Islam is a problem then speak it, but this article is about individuals.
I have my views about Islam, I do not agree with the existence or purpose of any abrahamic religion, they are all the same.

not bad because there are only 4 muslim countries? so it seems like 11% is quite a large % of the traffic?

Say what?
There are only 4 muslim countries??

Where..... you mean on this planet there are only 4 muslim countries?

Say what???

with each other

Big time

Out on the plains, knives drawn

Bring popcorn

It won't be knives out there.

It could very well be the 100+ warheads from Dimona.

Good odds when it starts other countries will get involved.

So you might want to be careful what you ask for.

Do you also have a problem with...

Christianity
Judaism
Hinduism
Buddhism
Agnosticism
Atheism
Communism
Socialism
Capitalism

etc... ?

Because if the action’s of a collective few determines your opinion of the group, which they claim to belong to... well, you must have a problem with them all.

Don’t mean to pick on you but is it not possible that in all ideologies/faiths/beliefs you get good and bad people?

Peace

Clear Evidence (Al-Bayyina) im not the greates reader in the world but i'll get there. what did you think of the book it's self? and what makes you attribute their actions to the fact they all share the same faith or makes you uppset that it wasnt coverd futher in the artical. i have to say it's not very often i read of someone commiting a crime followed by what faith they belong to or lack of it even.

The following is my opinion as a member participating in this discussion.

It would be nice if once, just once, a thread would not get derailed or an OP could not get called a bigot because they want to discuss Islam.

Seriously.

We have thousands of threads dissecting Christianity with a critical eye yet I never see the same people in threads such as this jumping in to defend against generalizations. In fact, they're generally the first to jump in swinging their fists. I never see the same people deflecting it onto something else. I never see the same people tossing around the word bigot.

And if someone dares to bring up a religion other than Christianity, they will jump in to junk it up and derail it, therefore preventing any sort of intelligent discussion.

Can we actually discuss the topic? Or do some have such a prejudice towards Christianity that it is the only religion they pummel?

As an ATS Staff Member, I will not moderate in threads such as this where I have participated as a member.

It does look like anything with an 'ism' , I have an issue with ...!!

Seriously, as I have mentioned already I find the whole concept of a religion wrong - the more I see in the world the less I believe a God like being could ever have existed.....
Moreover I think that we all know 'what is right & what is wrong' --- be it a crime like this one, fraudulent behavior, threatening behavior....

I want to live in world where everyone just 'gets on' for a mutual benefit...... THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN IN MY LIFETIME.........

All the subjects you listed CREATE the differences, power, controls over everyone and to be honest I am just plain sick of it !!!

The news story just turned my stomach and I just thought WTF..

It's not often that you'll find me defending Islam etc but yeah, we all know that Mohammed married Aisha when she was 6 or 7 years old and connsumated their marriage when she was 9 but ffs, how many horrible, perverted paedophile scum bags have worn the dog collar of one Christian denomination or another?

The sex trade is as old and multi-cultural as the oldest profession itself.

Thanks for replying.

In a very brief summary I feel that the Qur’an teaches a world of tolerance and peaceful interaction with fellow man, animals and environment.
I see it as a recollection or even story told by Mohammed about history and events. It uses alot of reference to other faiths but like with ALL religion, information is written in a way such as to justify the worship of which religion is being talked about........... To be honest it's the same with Politics today I guess.

My initial title was NOT aimed as a hit against a specific faith - I DO NOT BELIEVE ANY OF THEM.... so it makes no difference to me however what I see is the sheer terror, dis-belief and Fear in others when you mention something like I did........It's quite amazing really....... what an INTOLERANT world we live in.............. my main FEAR is that we cannot say anything, especially if it involves the terror that little girl went through....... Who Is the VICTIM here ?

Cheers

Thankyou for your comments but the more I think about this thread the more I realize I perhaps should have re-worded it a little better......

My issue was really with the horror of a crime like this, the actions of the people who did this, obviously their common linkage after you see the named list of offenders and the fact the media - nowhere makes a reference to the ethnicity when I THINK there must have been some group behavior in this case..

I get frustrated that when you see crimes like this and others too that happen in a supposed CIVILIZED society that Great Britain........ I do think sometimes religion is used as a get out of jail card or a smoke screen for the authorities and it is that I detest..

But do they want to discuss islam?
I understand your point but this was originally posted in BAM so the focal point was not islam but the article, which had nothing to do with islam.

But the article had nothing to do with religion.
Also if we forget that it was posted in BAM now since it's in Social Issues then it's still not about Islam but about muslims, the content would be about muslims despite the thread title.

When people are dissecting Christianity, how much reference is there to Christianity vs. Christians? And if it's about Islam what's the ratio of the topic being about islam vs. muslims.

I think that if you think about it's almost apples and oranges is it not?
At least I would say so. But I do see where you are coming from though.

But you couldn't use the word bigot in those threads about christianity because it's about Christianity and rarely about Christians.

But is asking for precision as far as one's choice of words derailing?
Is saying "do not generalize" derailing?
Actually I think it's to ensure the OP doesn't derail his own thread.

I don't think that's the issue here

I think it could be either of many things or a combination of them.
For example christian countries aren't being bombed into nowhere land right now, so part of it has to do with standing up for the small guy.

Secondly there is very little propaganda against Christians right now but alot regarding Muslims and on a conspiracy website it may be an important goal to spread the fact that what the msm is trying sell to america may not be the truth.

Personally I see all 3 major religions as the same, however when I enter a christianity thread it's solely about religion more often that not but when it's about Islam it's more socio-political. It may be the same for others too.

Because of the current political climate these are different threads for me so my replies will often not be within the same realm of thinking regardless of what religion the thread is about.

I do see where you are coming from though.

Have you considered that Israel is a nation and Islam is a religion. I am pretty sure bashing any religion gets you flamed while bashing any nation gets you praise. Just a note from the educated masses.

After reading thru the posts I think I understand your point of view now PurpleDog UK.

It seems that we can all bash anyone one from a varying form of Christianity for their crimes against children, but we can not dare mention the ones in the Islamic faith that do the same.

Is it therefore fair to say that this is a Muslim Group mentality ??

There have been many threads recently about the treatment of women in Islam. The grand question, it seems, is do Islamic males see women as property, to be used (or abused) as they see fit?

I think just like in any religion or culture, there is always going to be a group that twists words to fit their desires.

Unfortunately the abuse of children has gone on for centuries and I see no end in sight.

That has always been this way on this forum, time to make some changes around here.

The tactics used to silence people that don't agree with you and it is a two way street.

The vast majority of investors of child sex trafficking, i.e., purchasers of said children, are American or European wealthy individuals. Yes, the world all-over practices it, but the "industry" is in the gravitational pull of these people.

Your post is ridiculous, your assumption is ridiculous. The only thing you should have gleaned from the article is that the entire population (Islamic or not) suffers from an intense moral decay, with the upper-crusts of society having a heavier set of tools at their disposal.

If you had only said, "I have a problem with organized religion", I would have shrugged it off as a possible agreement on my part. It breeds this mentality. Instead, you're after Islam in your bias slant. What about the Vatican scandals.. did you even mention that? I imagine you leave that chip on your shoulder, don't you? But when those of a Muslim-origin are involved, oh no... you have to do something! ! !
