Lets not make the age-old mistake of determining the culprit or party to blame so soon after events have happened. It just leads to back and forth threats and accusations based on potentially wrong information.

This sort of incident is not surprising considering the recent tension in the region and the fact that ALL parties involved always have their fingers on the trigger ready.

Interesting...Did the UN do anything about that or did they just laugh it off? I guess Israels national slogan should be " All is fair in love and war"

Nashrallah is supposed to make a speech in about 45 minutes.

Wonder what he'll say...

Apparently the speech was already scheduled.

Hamas: We Stand with Lebanon and Pay Tribute to Its National Army

Israel Warns Lebanon of 'Consequences' as Lebanese Army Holds 'Israel's Arrogance Responsible'

Turkey also said a few months back that if Israel invaded Gaza again they wouldn't not stand idly by... I wonder if it's the same if Israel invades Lebanon.

Of course they did, but since when does Israel abide to the resolutions of the UN?

Edit: typo

The loop hole is there though-you can use as much as you like if its for "flares" to protect your helicoper/planes from rocket fire...

So now we see these helicopters firing dozens of flares at once...

Can't be good if any of that is still burning when it hits the ground.
Technically, its supposed to burn up before it hits the ground, but does not always do so.

I thought they were flares-the sort which was used in Iraq too close too the ground, gassing and burning people.

They call them flares,I thought.

Thats how they get away with such behaviour, its all semantics...
Pretty sick IMO.

Which means the geneva convention is just a piece of paper advising, not legally enforcing it.

Imagine this little incident about the tree
will maybe inflame the ME in big wars

the war sparkles that Israel needed will be because of a TREE
this is the world we live today

the heat is dangerously high... the boiling point might just have touched ground

I didn't find the video yet, but here is a quote on yahoo news that shows what I meant

Ronith Daher, 32, a Lebanese journalist who was at the scene, said she saw a UNIFIL peacekeeper ask Israel not to allow the Israeli soldier to cross the fence and warned them the Lebanese troops would open fire. The Israelis proceeded, however, and Lebanese soldiers fired into the air, Daher said.
