I found ATS in two thousand and eight,
I admit that I joined it a little bit late.
I found it by googling for "nine eleven",
One click and I found conspiracy heaven.

The logo kind of reminds me of V,
Not the Guy Fawkes bloke, the show on TV.
The one where the aliens ate hamsters and mice,
And Robert Englund was surprisingly nice...

I didn't even know of sites such as this,
And felt right at home in paranoid bliss.
I clicked on the picture of smouldering towers,
And got lost in it's pages for hours and hours.

New and naive I started a thread,
About the passengers who might not be dead.
It was there and then that I shifted my stance,
And learned of the motto "Deny Ignorance".

Ignorant I was, most certainly so,
"Do your research" I was repeatedly told.
So I did and when I'd cast off that affliction,
I discovered ATS had become an addiction.

Every day I'd login as soon as I woke,
My family and friends thought it a joke.
I had become a tin foil hat wearing loon,
Like something from a Fox Network cartoon.

But the thought of missing some impotant news,
Sighting, event, or government ruse,
Was enough to keep me awake at night,
The glow of my laptop by my bedside.

This site's got it all, I expanded my mind,
I don't think there's anything that I can't find.
Oil spills, swine flu, the Illuminati,
Earthquakes, Freemasons, The Powers That Be.

There's contests for writing, and even games,
Although not for one minute are they the same,
As blackjack or poker or anything easy,
These games are tough and can make you queasy.

I've seen some threads that are fetched from afar,
That Blossom Goodchild was simply bizarre.
And anyone remember Zeusadam?
The strange one who couldn't write worth a damn?

I'm not being harsh, don't make it a crime,
But his name is quite tricky to make something rhyme.
This poetry lark is a lexicological fight,
Anyway, didn't it turn out he was right?

Yes, well, there are mods who help us along,
And they point out anything we do wrong.
Don't worry about spelling or grammar too much,
But please don't use text speak, y'know lol and such.

I'm no expert poster or veteran member,
These are some points that I just remember.
Trolling and flaming are frowned upon too,
So please don't do that whatever you do.

So go to the board and click on a forum,
And please mind your manners and your decorum,
Don't use capital letters in the name of your threads,
To get people to read it, use **must see** instead...

So now I'm an addict, I need to know more,
About the secrets behind the conspiracy door,
And locked as it is by the men at the top,
The key we need? AboveTopSecret dot com.

There's no better website, I think you'll agree,
So if you are lucky and happen to see,
Any ATS owners where you happen to be,
Then buy them a drink and buy one from me.

Most excellent poetry! Your rhyme describes my first intro to ATS as well. I loved it.

And yes...I also see "V" in the logo now that you mention it. Reptiles? Think about it...staff could be reptiles.

Thanks for sharing this. I had a great time reading it.

Thanks for the comments Mr Mask, our very own Stan Lee...!

Maybe a comic/poetry collaboration in the future?

Watch it! If you are correct, you have probably been marked for removal. And don't count on a fair trial, you are totally under staff control.

Haha! I liked it and it was witty. It's sort of the attitude that is best to have when coming on this site. I mean the witty and fun way you discuss the site in the poem. Take these matters too seriously sometimes and it can be ugly. An open mind and a light hearted approach and take things with a grain of salt.

Thank you for your comments Novise, I completely agree that you need a pinch of humour at this site.

I tried a different perspective of ATS here:

325AD - The Roman Origins Of ATS
www.abovetopsecret.com...

I think the title's a bit crap to be honest, but see what you think.
