I hope you get what I mean. If the States are keeping it a secret, that is fine I can understand that. But what about 150+ other countries on the planet. Is it a worldwide conspiracy to keep this stuff secret?

Some people would say it's a worldwide conspiracy. If some country other than the U.S. decides to spill the beans about aliens, etc., then the U.S. threatens to bomb them or something.

But you're essentially correct. There are plenty of countries that might have more information about UFOs than the U.S. But the U.S. has just made more of a point to be secret about it. So that leads us to a couple of conclusions:

1) The only significant UFO crashes or activity has been in the U.S., so the U.S. has the only real truth about the matter.
2) There is no decent truth to be found, since it's very unlikely that telltale UFO activity would be only confined to the U.S.

I think probably #2 is correct. The U.S. doesn't run the entire world, and nobody knows anything.

I tend to think that the U.S. government knows as much about "real" UFOs as the average person -- which is basically nothing. They're baffled as to what they are and where they come from. It's just that the U.S. would keep that a secret just as much as they would keep any knowledge they had about UFOs a secret.

While it's impossible to "prove", if we accept the premise of a UFO crash in Roswell, the subsequent effort taken to cover it up, and the forming of a body to keep the secret, there is an excellent reason the phenomenon would center on the U.S.

Atomic weapons. (especially given the locale of the alleged crash recovery).

My thoughts are that it's possible that our first atomic bomb tests sent out a signal (perhaps unmeasurable by us, but detectable to other ET lifeforms' equipment to look for such signatures)...that announced us as having a certain level of tech deemed worthy of interest.

Since the first tests, and the first facilities were in the U.S., it makes perfect since the alien activities would be also. (if one is to accept the most widely-accepted theory in UFOlogy, of us retrieving a crash and covering it up, etc.)

I still think that aliens have no interest in interfering with us (either for good or evil), and are content as long as we stay in our own little sandbox, at least until we are at a point that THEY feel we should be, and establish formal ties. Or, maybe they simply aren't interested in establishing those ties, who knows? But, if we accept the idea that they are here for decades...we also have to accept they've made no overt move to either help or harm us collectively, as a society.

On the other hand, if you go along with the notion that UFOs and whoever is controlling them are more like time travelers than aliens, then maybe the United States has or will have something very important to do with the future, and so they have a very big interest in seeing how things developed from here.

But that still doesn't explain why there can be so many other countries out there, equally visited by UFOs, who are also keeping completely quiet about them. What would be their motivation to shut up? It would be pointless for the U.S. to bomb Brazil, for instance, just because it came clean about UFOs being aliens or Nazis or time travelers (or some combination thereof). The beans would already be good and spilled.

Hi folks,

I often wondered about a part of the ufo conspiracy that never really made sense to me.

It basically revolves around the USA being the center of the ufo conspiracy. I mean roswell, area 51, mj-12 and all that is focused on the USA.

That in itself doesn´t bother me at all, but what makes me think is that the aliens wouldn´t choose just that one country on earth to make contact with. What about places like China, India, Russia etc. Countries that are larger or have larger population?
.......................................................................
They chose the USA and the state of New Mexico because of the atom bomb.

Shouldn´t there be at least one government on this planet that would stop the secrecy and lay it all out in the open? Why is disclosure seemingly dependant on a government of a single country?
..................................................................................
They, other countrys don't have the "evidence", if they did they would disclose for sure.

You could argue, that the nwo basically controls the governments of the industrial countries, and therefore the politics are the same for all of the above mentioned.

But what about the less developed countries? If half a dozen ufos have crashed in the states alone, what about crashes in Africa, or eastern Europe?

I hope you get what I mean. If the States are keeping it a secret, that is fine I can understand that. But what about 150+ other countries on the planet. Is it a worldwide conspiracy to keep this stuff secret?
............................................................................................
Well well, somebody has finally said that the cover up is a conspiracy, my friend you just hit the nail on the head BIG TIME.

Thanks for your thoughts on this and have a nice day.

GREAT POST, AND KEEP IT UP.

OP, please don't take this the wrong way, but your premise is exceptionally flawed from the get go. Anyone that has researched the UFO phenomena, even the most basic of surface level inspections, reveals it is NOT focused anywhere in particular. Naturally because of the freedom of the press, as well as the over all sensationalist, alarmist reactionary, brainless and commercial media mentality of the USA. We blow everything up to larger than life proportions if there is a single commercial dollar that can be squeezed out of it. Why do you think Roswell outside of Stanton Friedman has become such a 3 ring circus? It has nothing to do with conspiracies or anything else other than the lamebrain mentality of the average "go getter".

The UFO thing is 100% GLOBAL. Always has been, always will be. To perceive it differently is just to be caught up in the grand illusion that is US aggrandizing commercialism. Sell, sell, sell!!!

It just seems like the US has a extraordinary amount of UFOs. I think there are several reasons.

(1) US has the most influential media in the english-speaking world and arguably the entire world.
(2) Most people on this board are American or speak English and have easy access to American media.
(3) America has freedom of press allowing people to, for the most part, freely write and speculate about UFOs. This is not true for some of the largest countries on earth such as the old Soviet Union and China.
(4) Americans have been fascinated by the subject since the 40s, thanks in part to Hollywood.
(5) People in the US have easily afforded cameras and other equipment due to a higher standard of living than most countries in the post-WW2 world.

I'm sure there are other reasons but these come first to mind. I'm assuming that the US doesn't have any more UFOs than any other country given its size and population.

Why the USA?

Some of the posts to the OP question sound more like pyscho-babble.

Why the USA?

It's not just the USA, it's also Canada, Central America and South America. Not to debate the exact years of discovery, but the Western Hemisphere was nearly devoid of human civilization until around 1500 C.E. and Americans didn't really cross the Mississippi until after 1800, while Europe, Africa, Middle East, Russia and China has been populated for 10,000 years or more longer.

If you were an ET race that didn't want to interact with the locals, the American midwest would be an ideal place. Or at least the ideal place until relatively recently in human civilization history. Once humans discover the American midwest, where on Earth are the ET's going to go to get away from humans?

My guess is that they made arrangements with the US gov't, in pretty much they way UFO lore has said they did. I'd also tend to believe much of Russia was also devoid of humans for many years.

I don't mean to say that it's not a world wide issue, was only answering the question regarding the USA.

maybe the answer is a bit different, and before anyone flames me this is just a theory, maybe nothing has crashed at all, and seeing as the u.s military spends the most cash and has the most secret tech and planes maybe the u.s government just likes the story to cover up their military secrets and maybe the u.s has just become more susceptible to the u.f.o story because of hollywood, tv and pop culture compared to other countries. and also with the other countries being a little more reserved and/or restrained due to culture, communism and or being poor it doesn't become such a phenomena there.

so my little theory goes that It started with pop culture, the military used it to their advantage, and it just runs in a circle!.

and again thats just a little theory that could be totally wrong

"Why the focus on USA?"

i have been studying this phenomenon for more than 20 years now, to be honest.

and although i can not fully address with 100% accuracy all of information you presented being related between ufos and america, i do think i have a particularly good working theory about one aspect of this delicate investigation.

possible motive for anal probing (mostly usa reports):
perhaps aliens are simply trying to discover the legitimacy and justification as to why most americans don't think their poo poo stinks.

but, i may be wrong, and this is purely scientific conjecture.

ats is fun,
et

Yea..

This kind of retardedness is the reason I rarely come to this site anymore.. Almost forgot.

Cheers for the reminder.

You're welcome! If it wasn't me reminding you, it would have been one of those dudes that are calling balloons 'UFOs'.

There are lots of crop circles in Europe, China has had recent UFO sightings that's all over the web, and there's a rumored secret alien meeting-place that'll make area-51 look like a ham sammich in Australia.

It's just that there are lots of Americans and English on this site compared to other people from other countries. :-)

[edited bc the "5" key on my keyboard is a bit messed up and it's hard to press down until you get your desired "5" for the "area-51" lol]

I thank you from the bottom of my Cold, Semi-lifeless, Techno filled heart.. But I already consider every semi stationary floating object (tethered or non tethered) as a UFO.. Possibly with real live Aliens inside.

Because I know they are also here because 'The Aliens Want Techno' as well. Clearly.

Sightings are world-wide. I'd say they are much more prominent in some other countries rather than our own. South America has a long history of a substantial # of sightings.

As far as the U.S. goes: We have a country that is advanced technology-wise, and it makes sense our government would study the phenomena (even if they deny it). Personally, I don't think Area 51 is anything but a base for our own aircraft. And as far as video and pictures go, countries with people that have greater access to video equipment and decent cameras are probably going to get more evidence. A UFO could probably hover for an hour over a small village in a third world country, and no one would have anything to record it.
