Date of Last Post – what’s the point?

As a frequent browser of these boards I tend to use the recent post menu to check the latest offerings from members.

I don’t understand why the last post needs to have a date displayed against it (in this menu) since it will invariably have been posted that day!

It would make far more sense to have the date associated with the creation of the thread.

I have seen countless historic threads in the recent posts menu where someone has responded thinking that it is a recent topic.

Seems to me a minor adjustment to the display area would be a great improvement. Does anyone else agree?

Sometimes threads are 'bumped' by Mods without them having to post anything in the thread, so just because they are in the recent posts page doesn't always mean that the last post in the thread was that very day.

Just one example of course.

Although I do agree that the original thread post date would be more beneficial
