First of all that article you linked where Obama calls blacks a "mongrel" people is TOTALLY taken out of context. Here is the definition of Mongrel according to Merriam-Webster dictionary:
As for that trailer for "Runaway Slave"... It's seriously DISGUSTING.
What that trailer does is mix in a lot of sensible concepts and even cool music (Nine Inch Nails... which is ironic considering how anti-religious/anti-Republican Trent Reznor is) with some undertones of right-wing propaganda. Now the notion that blacks are SOMEHOW oppressed by progressives, progressive policies, and social programs is mostly ridiculous. I do agree that reliance upon centralized government should be eliminated as much as possible, HOWEVER, this "documentary" seems to just be another white(or black?)-washing of reality in order to sustain our plutocracy and usher in an unregulated Capitalist market.
Now I really have to ask Pastor C.L. Bryant... did the unregulated market of plantations, slave labor, indentured servitude, sweat shops and child labor work out so well for them or the masses?? NO it didn't. Will de-regulating modern Capitalist/Neo-Liberal/Globalist markets somehow MAGICALLY lift blacks out of oppression, repression, poverty, and inequality? ABSOLUTELY NOT. Free markets have NOTHING to do with the liberation of slaves, nor with the lessening of institutional/economic inequalities (especially based on race). Poor blacks will NOT somehow MAGICALLY become prosperous/wealthy entrepreneurs when their social programs are cut. IN FACT, such social programs are arguably what helps LIFT them out of poverty, homelessness and into a decent standard of living and job markets (which were pretty lacking for them even when times are good).
The difference with the makers of THIS "documentary" though are that they are obviously NOT average poor blacks, they are either rich or have been obviously brainwashed by the ideologies of rich right-wingers who are poisoning our society with plutocracy and calls for false freedom which will only cause the masses more suffering and inequity with the elites at the top. In other words, this is pure brainwashing and propaganda.

I think a lot of people are unaware that in amongst those old auction queues there were many white people being sold too. That slaves weren't all black.

Be a man? That is the name of the article where I got the information. That is the size of the link letters. Have a problem with it?
Well, some people have problems with sourcing information. Maybe I could have not included it. But anytime to piss off the progressive/communists, makes me happy.

If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude
greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home from us
in peace. We seek not your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch down
and lick the hand that feeds you; May your chains set lightly upon
you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.

The NIN song had me hooked throughout.
I think it's interesting the argument that progressive's and liberals are the ones holding down blacks and leaving them to be 'slaves' in modern society.
I know endisnighe is trying to look beyond the racial aspects and promoting the idea that we're all just slaves to the system. Everything is forced upon us, this same mentality that sparks the 'throw the bums out!' mentality that is, for the most part, a weak argument considering MOST of the 'bums' have been in congress for less than decade, even the president...in national politics for...what? Five years? Let's throw him out because he's obviously 'out of touch'.
As much as I'd like to believe that ANYONE can just be a millionaire if they work hard I face reality and look around me, seeing just the opposite. The upper class are the opressors...some of them are congressmen, some of them are private business owners funnelling cash into whatever pet project they have to promote their viewpoint and get 'the people' behind it.
They prey on your fears and dreams. Some are honest. What do you propose EIN? We all just abolish the government through...what? Voter abstainance? Violent revolution? Find some extremist who we can agree with on our most valued topic and watch them destroy the country?
Oh, I see, these are just a bunch of black people bitching about white people huh? Nice spin.
