Iran sets major exercise; Ahmadinejad sees war by November

www.worldtribune.com

On July 26, Alavi said the exercise would begin on July 31 in the Hamadan province. He said 43 aircraft would participate, including the U.S.-origin F-4, and F-5, the Chinese-origin F-6 and F-7 and the Russian-origin Su-24.
The air exercise was being prepared as Iran warned of a major U.S. military strike in the Middle East. On July 27, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Washington would attack at least two countries in the Middle East by November 2010.
They have decided to attack at least two countries in the region in the next three months,Ahmadinejad, who did not elaborate, told Iranian television.

This is most likely just another parry in the endless sparring. Another media stunt, as you put it.

Yesterday, the U.S, and Iran were "sending positive signals on nuclear talks" [Link]. Tomorrow the U.S. will warn or deny. Or the attention will shift to China or N. Korea or Venezuela. And so it goes.

The probability that the U.S, or Iran will attack anyone is low. The only way they would engage is defensively, triggered by a false flag or retaliation to Israel going rogue. The U.S. cannot afford another war on any level.

Full story

Iran, warning of an imminent war, has been preparing for another major military exercise.
The Iranian Air Force has scheduled a week-long exercise in the western part of the country near Iraq and the Gulf. Officials said the exercise would seek to enhance interoperability as well as night missions.
"The maneuvers will also include mid-air refueling of aircraft," Iranian Air Force deputy chief Gen. Mohammed Alavi said.

"They have decided to attack at least two countries in the region in the next three months," Ahmadinejad, who did not elaborate, told Iranian television.

For his part, Alavi said the Air Force would deploy unmanned aerial vehicles during the exercise, which would involve at least nine bases. He said attack missions would be conducted at night, the first time that the F-7 and Su-24 would participate in such operations.

The exercise, titled "Devotees to the Sanctity of Religious Leadership," would also include the launch of new air-to-ground munitions, officials said. They said the F-4 and Su-24 would also practice mid-air refueling to prepare for long-range missions.

Iran has intensified air and naval exercises amid its acceleration of the nation's nuclear program. Teheran has repeatedly warned against any Israeli or U.S. air strike.

so many war drills happening ... that cant prelude to any good news
they are so close to each other ... a little incident will ignite the hole thing off
mushroom everywhere
Irak again ... but Iran have 2 powerfull allies(china and russia)
the USA cant risk attacking Iran just for that
if they come in(china and russia) ... the USA will loose this war

Yeah, they have a winning combo there. They are sitting down for talks and I do not think they will have the exercise.

Of course America is highly likely to strike in 2 middle eastern states in the next few months. My bet would be a Drone strike in Pakistan and another one possibly in Yemen. That is about as far as it will go, it will not be a full scale war because quite simply America cannot handle a war on 4 fronts economically, politically, and defensively .

Pirates or rogue Iranian Guards suspected in Hormuz Japanese tanker explosion

The attack on the Japanese supertanker intensified Saudi and the Gulf emirates' concerns over a possible threat to their oil exporting routes. Wednesday night, fearing an unidentified assailant may also go for their oil ports and shore installations, Persian Gulf navies, the Fifth Fleet Bahrain-based headquarters and the Iranian Revolutionary Guards naval installations at Bandar Abbas went on a high alert.
Our military sources report some 100 warships of different navies are currently present in the Persian Gulf.
After the attack, the Japanese supertanker, which took on crude oil Tuesday at the United Arab Emirates port of Das Island, headed for Fujairah in the UAE to assess the damage. Straight after the first inspection, both American and Iranian naval experts no doubt received an interim diagnosis of what caused the explosion from their local agents.

The forensic analysis of the means used to damage the M STAR would offer the first lead to the perpetrators, indicate whether it was caused by a missile, torpedo or some other means, and from what direction it was fired.

Debka story link

the SK warship just flashed in my mind ...
of course Israel and USA will accuse Iran
and maybe start the conflict right up with this incident
it can also be another Mossad falseflag operations

look at the title .. it accuse/suspect the revolutionary guard .. but the story have a different meaning ... "unidentified assailant "
tomorrow or soon.. it will be confirmed like they did with NK after the sinking of the SK warship

Last week according to the UN sanctions no one is allowed to trade energy services with Iran at any level. The US wont attack until there is at least one more UN meeting where they discus the result of the new sanctions set by the UN.

This is the time we will start to see if there is going to be a attack or not. If the US are going to attack Iran, we will see a major build up of US forces in Saudi Arabia and Iraq. This has not happened yet.

About all that air force is good for is publicity stunts like this. That is one big collection of obsolete planes. And the US is not attacking Iran or any other two countries in the region anytime in the near furture.

This is nothing more than a response to the U.S. South Korean exercise in Korean waters. NK can do nothing about them so Iran causes another distraction. These clowns are going to get a beat down very soon they will never forget thanks to their ignorant taunting of superior military powers. Unfortunately China is behind every move Iran and North Korea make.

But a war on Iran that may end up with acquiring Iran's oil reserves and gain favourable geopolitical and geostrategical positioning, would be a war worth fighting in the eyes of the US Corporate Elite and TPTB.

They feel their interests are tied in with Israel's. To them, Israel is a US Protectorate, that is aligned with US Foreign policy interests: Dominating the region, for the assets of the region.

They feel that a war on Iran, even a "limited" war, would topple the government that opposes them.

But history shows, that if a country is attacked, the people, even if they dislike their government, will rally around it to defend their country from aggression.

Britain 1940. Soviet Union 1941, America 1941, 2001...

Iran 1980, in the face of Saddam's invasion, Iranians rallied around the government, even those who disliked their government, to defend their country and families from invasion.

The US can not afford another war, not in the cost of lives, or for the terminal damage it will do to the reputation of the US.

But to those who seek geopolitical and geostrategical gains in the world, in the echelons of insidious power in the US, there is the world to gain.

They have the power to kill and maim for profit, and they will do so for that profit.

And it's the people who will suffer. Always the people, those countless people of many nationalities through history and in the future. They suffer.

But never those who bathe in their blood and cackle at the profits to be gained from the countless deaths.

Come on we have had ongoing drone strikes in Pakistan and have had drone strikes in Yemen 3 times already. What is the great revelation in this prediction.

My betting on those two countries Ahmadinejad refers to are Lebanon and Syria, the US involvement being to clandestinely support Israel in attacking them, probably by shipment of arms and intelligence.

Lebanon, for the revenge of the debacle of 2006. An Israeli attack of Lebanon, if it reaches the Beirut-Damascus Highway, would trigger Syrian intervention.

Syria would be the second country. As we know, Israel bombed Syria a couple of years ago, and Syria's defences were caught off-guard. There have been reports in the past that Israeli jets have flown into Syria as far as the Presidential Palace.

Israel will be greatly encouraged by this and feel confident to take Syria on again.

Israel will try to knock out Hezbollah, who are allied to Syria and Iran, and take on Syria who are allied to Iran.

Israel will aim to weaken both before attacking Iran, or in order to provoke Iran into entering the affray to support Syria and Hezbollah, at which time Israel can scream it's being attacked by Iran, and give itself a pretext to launch an attack on Iran.

No. Escalation in Afghanistan or engaging Iran would be fiscally disastrous and worse to the U.S. It would be akin to suicide to engage. That doesn't mean some people don't still want us to.

No amount of oil or anything would make a bit of difference, and don't even try to tell that to people who remember how the last administration said it was going to pay for the war in Iraq.

And if you think we're confused, rest assured that Congress is too. They just know a bit more than we do, and in some cases I'd venture to say a whole lot less, to understand at the level at which this struggle is being played out. They are seeing the consequences of their actions for the past 10 years and the real dangers very clearly now, and they're freaking out.

Now this doesn't mean it won't "happen," but every attempt is currently being made within the power struggle to avoid it. And what we are witnessing is that power struggle.

TPTB don't always agree with each other. They are not one cohesive entity. There are subfactions...subtle but they're there. And in many cases, what this boils down to for us is temporarily supporting a lesser evil.

ha!

Ahmadinejad thinks he will see the war.

LMFAO ... if war comes to Iran ... sight won't be his most used sense.

It will be touch and sound and taste and smell

He will feel the Earth shaking and trembling beneath him.
He will hear the endless bombs raining down upon his nation.
He will taste the bitter gall of death and his food will be ashes and crow.
He will smell urine and feces as he and his brethren lose control of their bowels.

Yes.

Wars make profit. Look at WW2, and how the US, from The Great Depression, was able to become a superpower thanks to emerging as an economic powerhouse because of the economic profits of the war.

Is War Fiscally disastrous? Not for those who have much to gain geopolitically and geostrategially and of course financially.

Especially if they think they'll win.

For the country, fiscally disastrous? Of course! But since when did TPTB act in the national interest, and the interest of the people, as opposed to their own desire and greed?

Self-preservation is key for them, so they don't take gambles on these sorts of things unless they think they'll be confident of success, or led to believe they'll succeed.

To us, they are insane and grotesque risks, like you rightly point out.

But wars make profit. War is a continuation of politics by other means.

It's a geopolitical and geostrategical game. And it's brutal.

TPTB may fall out, but at the end of the day, they bicker about nothing more than what chess piece to move in advancing The Great Game.
